Hello everyone. Today I just got a new Nvidia RTX 3060, and quickly replaced the old AMD RX5700 that was previously in my machine. However, ever since switching i've noticed a massive amount of vram is being used while almost idle in KDE. For example, attached is a standard output of nvidia-smi after using the machine maybe 30 minutes? At boot, the VRAM usage is around 500mb, which is still a lot, compared to my 1660ti laptop which idles at boot at around 200mb, and caps out at about 300mb after some usage (also running arch). All of the modules are installed correctly (I think?) but crashes and somewhat slowdown is semi-regular. I'm on Arch Linux with the linux 6.1.1 kernel, nvidia package

Should I just reinstall arch and keep my home folder?

okay, im gonna reinstall arch today and see if that gives any meaningful fixes

reinstalling arch and switching to wayland has netted great results! I had no idea that wayland on nvidia has gotten this good, but that ended up being my fix.
