how did you install grub? and are you on bios or efi

oof. honestly, if you completely followed the wiki, im not sure. the best thing i can recommend is chrooting and trying again but doing grub-install with the --removable flag

you shouldn't have to manually do shit with efibootmgr

that indicates another issue if it won't appear otherwise

If you didn't have efibootmgr installed when you ran the grub-install command, it wouldn't have added it to your boot options
