Ok can you chroot into your installation?

opal temple
#

@toxic jolt I might be able to do it now

toxic jolt
#

Send the output of locale and cat /etc/locale.conf

opal temple
#

Turns out I can’t, give me 30 mins

#

So sorry

toxic jolt
#

No problem, when you can do these commands

#

I might respond a bit late

#

So just send the output

opal temple
#

That’s fine, many thanks

opal temple
#

@toxic jolt also make sure that I’ve done the chroot correctly

#

shit, wait

#

Still get the same output

toxic jolt
#

You're still in the iso

#

You need to chroot correctly

opal temple
#

Okay, I’m looking at the wiki now

Mount your root file system and your boot partition

#

To /mnt and /mnt/esp

#

esp being the mount point of your boot partition

opal temple
#

im dual booting, i think i was in partition 5. but im not sure

toxic jolt
#

Do lsblk

#

And send

opal temple
#

I was doing that b4 i think my install is in nvme0n1p5

#

Because windows has more storage allocated to it

toxic jolt
#

Yeah I guess

#

Is p4 your boot partition?

opal temple
#

possibly, give me a min and ill see if i can confirm

toxic jolt
#

Ok

opal temple
#

is there a way to search through support threads

#

by person

toxic jolt
#

Yeah just use discord's system

#

from: someone

#

in: channel

#

etc...

opal temple
#

@toxic jolt i think my boot is in p1

#

but im not sure

toxic jolt
#

Ok mount /dev/nvme0n1p1 /mnt/boot

opal temple
#

also. sorry for being dumb (in advance)

toxic jolt
#

And mount /dev/nvme0n1p5 /mnt

#

Then arch-chroot /mnt

opal temple
#

More errors :(. Probs doing it wrong

toxic jolt
#

Alright let's do this instead

#

arch-chroot /mnt locale

#

and

#

arch-chroot /mnt 'cat /etc/locale.conf'

#

Sorry made a mistake in the second command

#

Fixed it

opal temple
#

It’s fine

#

also, do u want me to ping u when ive done, or just wait

toxic jolt
#

Alright now

#

arch-chroot /mnt nano /etc/locale.gen

toxic jolt
toxic jolt
#

And save the file

#

After that arch-chroot /mnt locale-gen

toxic jolt
#

Ok

#

Reboot into your system and try using terminal now

opal temple
#

it works, many thanks

toxic jolt
#

Glad to hear that. You're welcome
