I am unsure of the cause but suddenly out of nowhere my wallpaper is gone XFCE settings says its still selected the desktop has no icons nor can i select anything or open the right click menu bar and applications still work perfectly fine its only the desktop
i've been unable to find a solution via google
ive tried updating and restarting the computer
the last actions i took before this happened were
logout and login and whatever happened overnight when i went to sleep
inner wadi
temporary fix found by running xfdesktop
however when doing xfdesktop &
it shows 2 running
however it can be returned to 1 by running killall xfdesktop and then xfdesktop
a more permanant fix found:
Open settings
open session and startup
application autostart and click add
give it whatever name make the command xfdesktop --replace and set it to start on login
