#[SOLVED] Accidentally deleted UEFI boot entry for Debian 11 on my system - Need help recovering

I was trying to install Qubes OS today and when I was enabling VT-X in my BIOS settings, I accidentally deleted the UEFI boot entry for my previous Debian installation. Any idea how to recover it? It was previously running GRUB.
I have a debian live USB to work with as of now.

I need to get some passwords stored in Firefox off of the installation before I wipe it with Qubes.

Chroot and reinstall grub?

I'll do this tomorrow. It's just the boot entry that's broken

Ok you can probaby use arch install scripts to make chroot easy

#

Also if it proves to be more of a hassle to fix the boot entry it's probably easier to just reinstall grub

Is the boot entry just an .efi file? I might be able to fix it if I can decrypt the drive automatically

#

I use an encrypted hard drive but the EFI file might be somewhere on the unencrypted partition

Oh, no idea tbh

essentially in my BIOS menu there's entries for items

but if you still have the efi executable
you can recreate the entry

When I create an item it asks for an EFI executable

topaz blaze
#

yes
which is the file with .efi

#

can also be your kernel even

where would the executable exist in the drive hierarchy? I could only find one included with the BIOS and the grub on my flash drive

merry cedar
#

it only gives me PCI device labels and GPT vs MBR drives

hm alr

I'll see if there's a second GPT drive

alternatively, use os-prober to add debian entry to qubes' grub (or equivalent for the boot loader)

hm, I'm about to get a new hdd so that might be an option
