Yay update fails to update packages

Hi a few days ago I ran yay update and it updated the yay-git package on my system. After that update whenever I run yay, it shows packages that need to be updated, it seems to build them, but it doesn't actually update the packages. yep this is a new bug, no idea what to do about it but nothing from the aur w yay is installing properly! 🙃
