KDE is a good choice for a newbie. 2nd most similar to Windows. Cinnamon looks the closest to Windows out of the box.

If you like MacOS, then you’ll like Enlightenment. If you want something that’s very polished and Mac like, but totally different at the same time, then Gnome, but it is the most resource heavy by a good amount.
