I've never used linux on a desktop, i've only used linux on a gaming laptop , so as far as that experience goes, i wasn't able to control fan speed.
can someone tell me if that is the case with fan speed control in linux?

#

i usually just install nbfc and start nbfc_service.service and almost immediately the fan speed decreases to a reasonable level

#

tho i dont know why you would need to slow down your fan speed on a desktop since you dont have to worry about battery life

no, the problem is that my fan always runs at minimum speed

#

if i want max speed , i have to boot into windows, open nitrosense and increase fan speed and reboot to linux. after shutdown, this has to be done again

#

so on a desktop is the fan running at max speed always

#

or low speed and is there no way to configure this

#

well i am not completely sure but i think nbfc has a way to set fan speed levels for certain temperatures
