What other details do you think might be useful?

Say what the bootloader is, what the vm software is, what you have tried to fix it

civic swallow
#

i used virtualbox as the host

#

and the bootloader i tried to install i systemd-boot since grub is broken at the moment

fast grotto
#

Grub isn’t broken at the moment

civic swallow
#

it isnt?

#

ima open up arch wiki and try to install it then

fast grotto
#

are you booting up using uefi or bios mode in the vm?

civic swallow
#

bios

fast grotto
#

make sure you don't do the UEFI installation of grub then

#

💀 i dont have space for bios boot partition on the virtual hard disk

fast grotto
#

Even if you delete what’s there already?

civic swallow
#

i enabled EFI from virtualbox

fast grotto
civic swallow
#

cuz i dont have space for the bios boot partition

fast grotto
#

Do you have anything important on the VM?

civic swallow
#

nah

#

just installed arch today

fast grotto
#

I think you should reinstall it in uefi mode completely

#

Use cfdisk or fdisk or archinstall to set aside half a gig for the bootloader, probably need a bit less than that

#

I’ve never used the vm software you’re using, I’ve only used KVM
