I messed up grub again, but if I try to boot from my arch usb to fix it, it gets stuck and doesn't launch into the shell

can you be specific about what is getting stuck? if it is your ISO then try reburning it

If i boot from the usb, it doesn't give me the shell, the text "triggering uevents " hangs on screen forever

i just ended up manually booting the kernel from grub shell

i did some more testing and linux mint didn't seem to boot either
