After you and your friends have arrived on an island in the far north. The weather feels like it's changing, so you all decide to go to the local pub and play Frostpunk: The Board Game and build the last city on earth. A square deal.
In my cold frozen heart
Snowstorm when you are with Friends/Family
Also, please keep in mind that you've got time until tomorrow so no need to rush your answers 😄
infront of a fireplace in a cabin in heavy snow
scotland probably, its snowing there atm and seems fitting for a game set in the english empire
Cosy fantasy bar on a cold winter day, sipping on some mead
When a snow storm makes it impossible to get anywhere and also there is no electricity.
In a blizzard, outside, with no food or heating.
with chairs at certain distances away from the table. Each distance tier awards you blankets and heaters. So the better you're playing the more warmth you get.
Christmas, snow outside, forest, in front of a nice fire together with my brother. ❄️
New years eve, after a game of Cluedo, which was predictably won by that one family member who metagames everything
In a cave, with no heating, no food, and no GPS, and there is something out to kill you
in a mountain cabin that is heated by steam in the swiss alps
Huddled up with friends in a remote log cabin sipping a cup of hot cocoa and a snowstorm outside
On a resort high in the Alps full of snow with family
Turn up the AC, have some cold drinks and snacks at the ready, losers only get cold food, winner gets a nice warm drink and/or meal, no warm and cozy clothes
Dark room with only light source being blue led's. The AC turned to max with cold air. Hot Chocolate. Frostpunk ost playing in the background. And most importantly the heater that looks like a generator so players wont get sick.
You live in a place where it's snowy. It's winter time and there's a huge snowstorm. Your power goes out and there's no way to play Frostpunk on PC or console. But you have a great solution! After setting up your own heater that looks kind of like a heat generating tower, you whip out your Frostpunk board game! Bring the family together and bond over your super immersive game of Frostpunk. Don't let the generator go out both in-game and in real life!
Right after you build and live in that one House outside the generator range so you won't get sick as quickly as possible. Works best with your other lads who got stepped on by Automaton ,forced to work 24 hour shift a second before and guy researching how to make houses warmer
The most obvious place to play the board game at is the schoolground. Its time to beat some sense into those lowgraders through the power of order and discipline. I can hear them crying already trying to play on expert with survivor mode on.
During the break of the session on russian war crimes in The Hague
In a company of friends by the fireplace. And the friends take turns to add firewood to the fireplace.
In the cold north. in a small camp with an oilgenerator for electricity and heat. And a bowl with Soup made of woodchunks. In the background is an upcoming blizzard.
🥶
In summer☀️ with a windy weather. That way you can feel the generator turned on while recovering in the infarmary🏥 from the storm (literally the most heated place in the whole game except the telegram house)
I could see people trying to play this as a challenge in the outside or when camping so the better you play, the more fire you can add to the campfire.
With a cup of tea (frozen solid) while next to a coal-fired heater in a poorly insulated tent in the Texas snow (storm). Because the world isn't supposed to get that cold, but it did.
In the far northern Sweden during a huuuge snowstorm. You look out the window and there is nothing but snow hitting the window sill and the trees.Just imagine playing this game next to athe fireplace, while sipping on your favourite soup, although some might feel some discontent...
Walk in freezer. Preferably everyone is wearing arctic cold weather gear.
In a warm cozy room, as a blizzard rages outside.
A warm and comfy hut in mountains, with a fireplace and marshmellows.
Preferably with the frost punk soundtrack, playing in the background on a loop
Of course playing in the North Pole, you gotta get the FULL experience
Probably with a group of fan or family interested in your hobbies to bring everyone together in a nice little house up in Canada.
In a park during winter, specifically after it’s been snowing, with a nice campfire or fire pit burning nearby.
A mountain cabin in Norway, all by itself in the middle of a snowstorm. Sitting by the fireplace in the evening.
In the tent, camping somewhere in Norway
Sitting on a watch tower overseeing all those workers and children doing their 3rd double shift in 4 days because I need that promotion (speak steam achievement 😄)
With good friends in a cozy room
At home while eating soup
playing on Mount Everest with this board Congelated on tent.
I'd say at home during summer. because you definitely have a cool board game right there. 😎
In a watch tower during a snowstorm
On the game table in front of the fireplace with 3 other friends, Piotr Musiał’s beautiful score flowing from the record player as snow falls out the window
In the ruins of Winterholm, after the last group has been sent to the repaired Dreadnought, the remaining few engineers sit down for a nice board game while they wait for the generator to fail and the snow claim them at last.
Hmm, i think best would be home. In warm home with friends and family. Drinking hot chocolate and eating some Polish grandma made Apple Pie
In a cabin in the mountains, a light snowstorm going on outside, so the internet is out for the day/night. Having your loved ones with you as you pull out this board game. A fire going to keep the place nice and cozy. Hot chocolate all around while in pajamas. A glass table where you set the game up and gather around while you talk and enjoy the game!
Far, far in the mountains, during cold winter evening, in a company of good friends, some were in the mountain shelter or touristpost - there is an excellent place to play Frostpunk board game ❄️
In -150°C temperature
Liban quarry in Kraków that used to be labor camp during WWII
In my opinion the perfect place and conditions for playing Frostpunk The Board Game are some snowy places like mountains or taiga because these places have perfect climate (cold) and conditions are snowing and -40 °C outside so you can feel this climate of no hope for life and determination of fighting for heat and home.
Below Deck on the HMS Terror in 1842
Warm living room with fireplace and blasting fire. Nice shot of whiskey, sound of wind from outside and game soundtrack from speaker
In the middle of Winter,
Nearby The Fireplace, to look outside for seeing a falling snow like in New London and this snow which has fallen like in WinterHome,
To be a good people's guide
Mariupol Ukraine 16.03.2022
Cold, dangerous, constantly searching for resources to survive in terrible conditions, and people constantly having trouble finding hope. the need for special solutions and a leader who will unite people
perfect playing conditions, at least to make some players realise that in difficult times, you either have to put up with terrible conditions or "lose"...
At work while the propaganda towers are screaming at you to get back to work
In my house in the middle of summer. I play FP every year on PC during summer trying to cool myself
The perfect conditions to play Frostpunk The Board Game would be playing it here in Brazil because the game is so immersive that when opening it we would feel relief from our 40º heat and we would find ourselves immersed in the glacial atmosphere of the game!
On a cold afternoon during an Antarctica expedition
In My opinion Best place to play Frostpunk boardgame is outside doing firepit with friends becouse who don't like Firepit with friends and good food and always is better to do something with friends or family than alone especialy something that amasing like frostpunk on the board
In some friends House, on a hot summer day to have relief from the heat and at least think about something cold
I dont know because i have never played this game.
During a snowstorm in a cozy home with a nice warm fire and family
Of course you gotta turn the fire off or on depending on heating 👍
Skiing down a snowy mountain during the winter, you get 2 sets of skiing gear and weld a metal table to your left ski and your fellow player's right ski, it'd be a bullet game like in chess, the winner can bail while the loser will fall into a crevasse in the snow. The perfect conditions for playing a game with high stakes.
When the global average temperature drops again bringing forth a small ice Age. similar to how people played the game Pandemic doing Corona. At this point the game becomes more of a simulation, than a game, but it will still be hilarious to joke about creating a religious order to solve the problems in the "GAME". Those who have played Frostpunk before, will move to the north, be it Norway, Iceland, Canada or Greenland and play it there for good lore reasons.
Inside of course, by the yule log tv channel with a snow storm outside, playing with family or friends depending who you're trapped with, heavy arguments about morals etc etc, choosing order every time
In the cold Russian wilderness, isolated by the forest in your own self built cabin with a fire place roaring in the background surrounded by family and friends while reflecting on the hardships of the world preparing for a warmer, brighter future, together
Outside during a raging blizzard. That way you’ll know how the children you put to work feel after you inevitably lose (you can’t feel your fingers).
Cool yourself a bit by playing it during summer heatwave
In the living room by candlelight during a power outage in a snowstorm
11 am .... far blazing Sun doesnt touch heart of the high blue sky ...... people so occupied with their daily lives ..... this is best time to start a run ...... and face a storm, me and lads will save a city before dark fall.
Play it literally anywhere in England. The unpredictability of the weather is perfect for playing a rendition of Frostpunk
Somewhere in the freezing mountains where there is a lot of trees which are frozen. Near the generator that is keeping u alive in the bitter cold.
Together with my friends in our board gaming basement with our favorite snacks and drinks. We are playing, talking, laughing listening some music and having a great time
The when or the where doesn’t matter too much to me, if I’m playing with my family then it’s going to be a great time regardless. A good board game is a sure way to have lots of laughs and good memories 🙂
the middle of the north pole during winter in a blizzard, with nothing but a small generator to keep you warm. Extremely immersive
In the middle of a heat wave, so I can dream of a better time
Nice A nice night at the table next to tea, when the chimney or radiator heats your house and you and your friends have your blankets with which you are covered while it is snowing or raining outside the window.
I wish I could change my answer
In a log cabin that is heated by a fireplace where if you or your friends fail, you are exiled outside into the freezing cold as per Frostpunk customs.
In a cottage in the alps! With fire and hot cocoa...
I already am in the perfect place and with the perfect conditions
In a lávvu (Traditional Saami tent) in the north norwegian steppes during winter.
Wrapped up in blankets and throwing ice cubes at people during arguments
Dimly lit warehouse basement, the sound of a violent snowstorms outside that you can hear and feel from its few windows and exits, a vintage radio tuned to a station that it can only 85% reach so its music with the occasional static, specifically picking a station that gives frequent updates on its weather too so you hear it while playing.
Literally the way people are executed in the actual game but not a gas
Play inside my work place deep freezer to becoming immerse in the cold .
Somewhere and I am in extremely cold in arctic weather gear, or a improvised way to stay warm with the frost punk soundtrack playing in the background
The best place would still be at cleaned house on sturdy table with my trusted companions because we would not dare to even slightly damage this piece of board game gem
One day ill tell my friends we are going for a session of DnD… ill tell them to bring coats and to blindfold themselves… I’ll walk them right in into an industrial freezer…. Play the Frostpunk OST so hard and then start narrating the fate if London as we are the last people alive.. we only have one objective. THE CITY MUST SURVIVE
Play in a temperature controlled room with your friends. Lower the temp as the game goes on, and have your friends get angrier and throw tomatoes at you as discontent rises.
Xmas table, with my friends and family, when it's freezing and snowy outside and the music comes from the vinyl record 🙂
Gathered at a table near multiple barrel fires, attempting to stay warm in the cold and desolate terrain of Siberia, or at home with your friends, up to you.
Next Friday night with friends at home, cuz the temperatures are rising this Friday ☀️ and I just got used to the cold. Better to stay in the cold then.
In the macdonalds freezer locked out for the night because they missed you closing up
in the middle of siberia
Snowed in in a log cabin, huddled around a fireplace for warmth.
My answer: whenever the temperature is below -20°C. Go out, dig yer damn crater, build your generator, and chill next to it while the children work in the coal mines while you play frostpunk: the board game.
In Antartica and inside an iglo. You would eat your fish from iced water and play icey game.
Drinking some hot tea or coffee, while sitting in your living room with friends or family. And outside you can sea the snowflakes falling down.
The best location would be a shipwreck in Antarctica.
If I'm not playing the board game while actively freezing to death or while sending children to the mines, I'm not playing it
My house in Montana mid-December when it's -30 F and blizzarding outside. I am wondering if this is the day my furnace dies, it's needed replaced for years. On the way to work that morning I could barely see the road in front of me, on the way home I hoped I wouldn't run out of gas and have to walk. Now it's nighttime, my shift has ended and my family is thankful to be sheltered from the storm. I can hear the wind whistling through every vent. We are heating up what little remains in the kitchen to cook. Before it's time for bed, we take out our Frostpunk board game and play.
Top of a vulcano or In the Bleak Midwinter 😆
you could do it in Oymyakon, Siberia. The coldest known human settlement surrounded by many forests and lakes
Inside a House next to a Warm Fireplace during winter on a small table in Your Warmly lit Living room
in jan mayen
At a tea party in northern Siberia
In the research station In Antartica, during a blizzard while your fellow engineers try to get the heating back online
In a room that has seats the players use which gets colder depending on the current temperature in the game plus air conditioning which gets colder as well
Some tropical island, summer, noon at the beach, drinking a fancy cocktail and playing the board game just to chill 😉
In one of the cities of Ukraine, when you are forced to sit in the basement due to an air raid alarm, and during this time it’s best to play a board game with friends by candlelight.
In the deep Siberian woods while being in a hot sauna
Sitting in the sun, with a cold drink, and having fun with friends.
Being so immersed in the game that we feel the cold and want to get closer and closer to the generator. - The sweat is running down our faces and our backs and makes us believe, we are working really hard to survive.
a cold winter night with the only warmth coming from the fireplace as we all play on the ground in front of it
Christmas Day with a huge snowfall happening outside.
In a nice and cosy house while their is a snowstorm outside and everytime it gets colder somebody swings the door to the outside open
At an Antarctic research base when you're snowed in due a storm
A nice and warm sauna
The perfect place would be up at the cabin in the mountains when you get snowed in on the family trip.
Right next to the thermostat
During a power outage in winter illuminated by candlelight.
In a late 1800’s glove factory, after losing a leg due to improper working conditions and with the boys
In my Frostpunk themed gaming room during a flash freeze !
Go to modern London and play the game, bro it's so freezing anyway you'll feel like you're in fp
In an iglu with firends, just the game and some light.
Going to say something very cheesy but anywhere as long us you are with family or friends or both! Anywhere could be perfect to play this. It's not the surroundings that matter but who you are with.
In the Frostpunk apocalypse as a little piece of nothing
Doesn’t have to be grand or specific. I live in Canada and when I played the video game the thing that really brought the atmosphere was simply just having a window showing the snowy blizzard and grey skies outside. Rattling every so often. Wind howling but not loud enough for you to turn your head to it but just enough for you to notice it while still focusing on the game.
The heating isn’t too hot to be cozy but at the same time not too cold to be freezing. Wearing a onesie and having background noise of whatever you choice is.
With my family around the fireplace in the middle of the house as the house manager.
On the summer solstice in a desperate attempt to feel cooler
Curled up to the toasty generator, with just enough coal to last the length of the game. 😍
In the coal mines of course. Specifically during my 5 min break between my 10 hour shift
During warm summer, to stop suffering from extreme heat for a while and just have fun (and suffer from extreme cold)
Obviously in a comfortable bunkhouse
There is a big cold wind riding the waves, but the sky is clear and the sun very bright. Two birds dance on the frothy foam. Cicadas no longer sing. so the best place would be in the Sage Nebula Butterfly, get involved with enlightened stars,Make your presence stand out, reflects the brightness of the stars around you, giving meaning to your existence. Maybe the summer is over.
In cozy place with fireplace, wooden oak table and tea where you don't lacks any resources like in Aurora
On top of Pisa's tower, four friends played,
Frostpunk's challenges, together they braved,
The snowstorm had passed, the sun shone bright,
But in Frostpunk's world, the cold ruled the night.
They huddled close, by the generator's heat,
Building their city, in a world so bleak,
The tower stood tall, a beacon of light,
A symbol of hope, against the endless night.
They laughed and joked, as they played their game,
But Frostpunk's lessons, were never too tame,
For in its world, they learned to work as one,
And that in unity, they'd never be undone.
And as the sun set, on their Frostpunk quest,
They looked out at the city, with hearts full of zest,
For in Frostpunk's world, they found more than fun,
They found friendship, and the will to carry on.
A perfectly warm, tropical island with anti-child labor laws on a sunny day with a cool drink in hand. For peak contrast.
A slightly-too-warm summer evening with a few friends, choice drinks cooling in the fridge, and a house rule that you need to drink every time the majority of the table believes you made a morally questionable decision in the game.
in a small cabin on a cold winters night. a little bit of air outside and a big fire in the fireplace, right next to it, the board game and few cups of hot chocolate. truly a perfect night .
In the 11bit HQ with all the frostpunk devs while its snowing outside 😎
On the 1st of january, in middle of a cold park with all the fireworks around and a hot chocolate, some blankets and the friends you would survive an apocalypse with.
During next Ice Age
In an igloo during this noreaster coming through
At the child shelter with the other 14 children, preferably with the generator turned on!
During a heat wave next to the AC, wishing only that the dangerously hot temperature would drop and for a cold blanket of snow to cool you off
in my backyard in the snow within a temperature controlled bubble - but gets colder depending on the game mechanics
argentinian patagonia, watching the whales on spring
the best time is when you want to break the ice huh :D, pls don't ban me from the party :3
on a cold winter night playing with family drinking hot chocolate
on the outdoor/back-alley patio of a working class/student-friendly bar in the city, gathered around one of them tall heat lamp things to fight back the cold and the dark, with a group of friends and strangers. the handful of weirdos that for whatever their reason, chose to drink out on this cold patio rather than inside of the bar itself.
Once, a team of four was sent up north
Through cold winds they went forth
To research the melting pole
With knowledge being their goal
Suddenly met with a loud crack
All of them were thrown on their back
Under this sterile unmoving land
Forces of nature made their last stand
While cold seemed like the greatest danger
And warmth seemed like a distant stranger
The ice broke and tore apart below
Rent by warm water flow
A massive ice shelf drifted into the sea
And destroyed any chance for them to flee
So suddenly deprived of solid ground
On the edges only cliffs of ice they found
With food and water still aplenty
They could survive for a week or twenty
But would they be found on this moving ice?
With their survival as uncertain as rolling dice?
Without purpose and without hope
How would they mentally cope?
But entertainment would be found
A board game to keep minds safe and sound
On the snow they played Frostpunk
While around them the ice shelf shrunk
Entertained by tale of bitter frost
They were oblivious to what was lost
Slowly shelf became floe
Under the sun’s ever brighter glow
Ever southward they drifted
Until the ice once again shifted
And so the last chunks of ice fell apart
No longer sustained by the shelf’s once frozen heart
In their final minutes the men were of hope bereft
On the ocean’s waves no mark was left
In a small shed being battered by a snowstorm, with a small heater by you. The heater is adjustable, and based on the gameplay, you change the temperature accordingly.
On a long train ride through a frozen tundra.
The pefect place to play is where every player is sitting on top of giant blocks of ice and see who can last the longest before giving it up to the cold!
In the cold snowy mountains there is a cabin.
next to a fireplace is a grand table.
And there we shall feast and play of England's feats
Sitting inside while it snows with the fireplace on and some hot chocolate and cookies
Sitting in a nice warm house with friends and family, in Michigan where the weather can change almost as fast as it does in Frostpunk. With it being Autumn looking weather outside one minute and then twenty minutes later some snow is falling almost as fast as the end game blizzard.
Inside a warm, isolated cabin in the middle of Norway mountains, in a village. As you play progresivelly, the surroundings get colder and colder, and when the night arrives, half of you are already chilling, and putting on extra clothes. By the time endgame hits, you all are freezing, huddled around the furnace, waiting to finish the game to finally tuck yourself under the sheets for the night.
It only makes sense that you would play it in a nice and cozy house with some homeless brits.
Out in the forests near the great city of North Pole, Alaska! With a crispy iced tent, a burned out fire, and empty stomach of course
In a secluded cabin during a heavy snowfall around a roaring fireplace with some good friends, warm and cozy blankets, and some nice hot cocoa with mini marshmallows and whipped cream!
Clearly a scorching tropical beach, so while the survivors face frostbite you can face sunburn
A night when everyone is gathered to play DnD. Right as the Dungeon Master asks everyone to roll for initiative, you slam the generator down on the table and roll your D20. You get a critical success and throw the rest of the DnD game to the side and set up for the ever lasting winter
By a mighty warm fireplace on a day off or even while out on a tropical vacation, so that I can laugh in the faces of the frostbitten British children having to work their frozen buttcheeks off in the soup kitchens
In 'Doomsday' Svalbard Global Seed Vault.
Because even preppers need some distractions from the cold reality 😁
For me the best place to play would be in a cosy room with clear sight on Big Ben, near a fireplace while it's also snowing outside. It would surely fit the climate and help with immersion, as you could feel like you're at the beginning of an adventure, that might happen just as you finish playing
At the pub after rock climbing - where the intelligent among us fight to sit next to the fire while we all drink cold drinks that slowly freeze us up!
In the heart of the Misty Mountains next to the pile of gold playing with the dwarfs
Of the best place would be in a hunting cabin in winter. The cackle of fireplace mix with the smell of old wood. Playing the game dimly lit by an oil lamp.
Bonus if it's windy outside.
Just enjoying hot coffee/tea/chocolate while playing with a friend, letting hours pass by slowly.
I believe that you need a mixed playgroup that knows the video game, and those familiar with board games. Frostpunk the board game is pretty heavy (like the video game) on the rules and mechanics that you need to have a dedicated group for this.
The perfect place for to play the game is a friend's house with a huge table to pack up all of this game, and some other table for food to eat while playing. It is a long game after all, and you want to heighten the experience and discussion with food and drinks; Just be careful of the mess caused by the food. I think people should be informed beforehand how this game works for it be fun, that it is heavy and might take a long time. Everyone should be prepared for fun and long ride with this game. Games, and by extension, board games are fun and it best shared with others!
The best place to play this game is in a cramped coal mine for an authentic experience
Best place for the board game is huddled up inside to the warmth of a fireplace, while outside thick layers of snow are falling, covering the windows and hiding the landscape.
In the Saharan desert 🐪
In the arctic with an inuit, a siberian, Jack Frost, Santa, Frosty the Snowman, Mr.Freeze, the Night King, Cold Miser, and that one kid from school that says "It's not that cold" when it's below freezing. The one who wins will be crowned The King of the Cold, but for those who lose, they will fall into the icy depths below.
Honestly my D&D/board game group's game room has no insulation so the best place to play the Frostpunk Board game is just in our regular gaming room lol. I'm sure the little plastic generator on the table will act as a placebo and create more warmth then the walls
In the very center of the generator of the fourth power level LUL
it is 2025, global warming has taken its toll, but you find refreshment in the game as you travel towards greener pastures.
In the Arctic and during a terrible horrible storm in one of the research labs over there.
Simply anywhere with friends and family
In the middle of the sweltering Sahara desert, so you can imagine what it's like to be cold
A space conducive to immersion. A dimly lit room, with the only sources of illumination being the fiery glow and flickering candles that dance and cast eerie shadows on the faces of the other players. Individuals who share a fervent passion for strategy, storytelling and exploration, united in their commitment to the game's demands. The cold will test us all, and we must be fortified with ample supplies of sustenance and drink to endure the trials that lie ahead. Even a chill breeze makes its way into the room, accompanied by the shrill cacophony of an ancient window's screeching hinges, mirroring the harsh climate of the game's setting. But we will not pause or rest, because for we know that tomorrow we must fight the cold once again, braving the treacherous terrain and the myriad challenges that await us. We are the scouts and our city will not survive without us.
The perfect place was at Pyrkon fantasy festival, where people that love the game, could gather together to check the board game for the first time.
In order to provide an endless loop of eternal suffering, set up both "Frostpunk The Board Game" and "This War of Mine Board Game" then as players die in one game, they are reincarnated in the other game and vice versa.
Pros: Eliminated players always are playing a game no matter what they do
Cons: Child Labor laws in Frostpunk carry over into both games
In a hotboxed garage.
Playing the video game in midsummer in Australia, has made me feel cold, despite the temperature outside!!
So I think the perfect place for the board game would be on a hot, dark night, with the wind blasting outside for atmosphere, with friends surrounding the table and just trying to survive until the next round!!!
