#Newer enemy extra sprite types

How do i make different sprite types for enemies like newer did? For example, in newer ds if u set the sprite type of the phiranna plant to 0000001 it turns into a dry bone phiarana plant, does anyone know how its done?

the newerds source code includes all of the code hacks used, but you will need to also setup the template (preferably ncpatcher) and if you choose ncpatcher, you'll need to convert the code hack to ncpatcher (easy if the code hack is in asm). you also need to insert a new piranha plant model into the rom, then copy its file id and replace the one in the code hack with the one you copied
