I need to finish 3 (2 half done and 2 with really small parts done)
I have a lot of motivation (kinda as always) but i never have cool ideas and when i touch the level i get 2-3 ideas and cant do anything
I have 4 chuncks left for 2-3

maybe you could find a way to combine the main gimmicks? maybe you could make it a bit harder towards the end?
usually when making levels, i start by introducing the gimmick(s) slowly, then i make it a bit more complicated by changing the settings or by making it a bit harder. after this i try to combine the 2 gimmicks
Yea true, my main worries are: the 2nd star coin, how i could make the coins and torpedos something so it would be a challenge to get it and such

The level gimmicks are:
Torpedos
Sharks + fish
Wirlpools

if you use the whirlpool, you have at least one obligatory star coin in whirlpool to place in the level
(not very creative but works most of the time)

Theres other stuff u can collect from it
Such 3 ups (moon) and a clock
Theres more clocks but if you want to 100% the game you will need to find all colectables in game (clocks, moons and such)
maybe a star coin in a sub-area could work
for example having either torpedo teds or sharks that you have to avoid (don't spam them too much like the 1-airship tho...)
For the clocks i wanted to do smth like that, if you beat the level with a certain ammount of time (ex: 1-1 250clock) you get a check on the level in the worldmap
Yea i remember this level, but dw i learned using them now for making cool levels
And for the moons, there would be a icon on worldmap just like the star coins one, if you colect a moon from the level that theres a moon, you will get the moon icon on the level

I made a conected pipe thing for the second star coin and since it was too close to the last star coin i made smth that imo was pretty creative with conected pipes
It makes the player enter the pipe and replay a small part of the level when exiting it
But with a reward of star coin + 3 lifes

Guys yall have ideas on how could i add this hand to the torpedo spawner?
My main problem is that the actor i did before was out of sync with the torpedo's spawns, i kinda wanted to make a way so i could make the hand responsible by the spawn of torpedo but idfk how to do it (im not a programmer, ofc) so what yall sugest on what i could do? If possible using the actor i did with the wiki tutorial
Btw im making a new torpedo ted design
And animations
hardcoding positions or creating a node where the hand is for spawning purposes
or a hacky way to do it is make a model of both the turret and the torpedo as one for a state (plays the release animation) and then they become seperate
theres a few ways to go about this really

It would be piss to make a torpedo spawned actor. You would just need to have the models for it and then switch the torpedo model that gets drawn out for the actor when needed

i just want to say that if you do this to the other structures as well, it's better to do each step for each of the structures before going to the second step. so it can be consistent
not necessarily required but it helps with keeping things consistent. same for general art stuff btw (eg. if you have to draw 2 eyes)

Why do you make the progress other go all over the place instead of in a straight line?
Yeah there's zero need to make a bajillion path nodes in a progress path, you can just make it a straight line, lol
Also, you don't have to extend down the walls below the view so much, 4 tiles is fine

There's a difference between decorating inaccessible areas and extending the walls outside of the view to prevent cheeses
The latter is something I recommend doing to everyone, the former is just a nitpick of mine

i dont have any experience with 3d modeling but you could try sketching the models from a couple angles n use them as like a bg in blender

And it will be called "ssmb: the lost levels"
The game will have same lore, same world ammount and such

W2 will be the foggy pine cliffs
W3 will be cliffy desert

from what I read from garhoogin apparently vertex colors use the mesh normals (which also get used by lighting) so you canβt use both in one materialβ¦

nice!! i kinda imagined the smaller clock to have a darker outline but this works too!
for the sunsey level tho, the white outline for brick blocks looks kinda bad imo. i think it should be dark brown instead or something (the question mark is fine though)
also for the first image: i repeat it, please do not mix backgrounds into the same layer (here volcano mountains, and volcano rock structures)

also for the animations, both for the mecha koopa and ronzer:
- the legs animation is too slow
- their bodies and heads should kinda move up and down while they walk (and/or maybe rotate slightly upwards/downwards).
- though the ronzer has a head animation, which is nice, but imo not enough
- i would also make them "charge" instead, by lowering their head (and front of their body), i think it would fit well!!
now give me the model so I can make a cracked ass reznor fight :3
