The levels are

They certainly have ideas in them
I personally didn't like how any of the levels looked graphically
All the tiles have a crust on them that I don't like

tbh yeah theres so much enemy spam in ever level lmao its my main issue with the demo
the level design does have some parts it can possibly improve in but that doesnt bother me as much as the enemy spam

The enemy spam is not the only thing that you should fix, there are some other level design choices that I really feel you should improve, like dying in the second star coin bonus room in 1-2 if you fall into the pit, or having to go back a very long way to get the second star coin in the airship level
Maybe not remove the coin, but rather adding some warps below the pit so you don't die if you fail

Youβd have to remake all of the tiles from scratch to fix this issue.
Because you have ported tiles, when you downscale you lose a lot of quality in the tiles. They look βblurry.β If you think it looks fine, then I mean itβs your mod lol. I just donβt think it looks that great personally.

damn why has there been so much peak lately in this community
Unfortunatelly the vertical bullet bill have one polygon that is glitched (probably poked, since i didn't enabled the both inside and outside model view) so it is not visible, only happens with vertical bills and bills going to right, since its a face on the right side that is glithed
But it dont really "disapears" its just crazyly frickling (not a polygon overload btw, since it happens on desmume, and desmume ignore the polygon limit on screen, its a bug ON the mesh itself)
But its almost impossible to notice, i only noticed on desmume because my pc lagged, and i cant see it in drastic or any other emulator
Unless i slow down the game (i did it on drastic and it happened)
So at full fps you cant see it

World 1 will be a 5 levels world (just a small tutorial) and other worlds will have more levels

I think ill just ask will to make this, since my bubble flower would be a lot simple, since my levels arent designed go have double jump, and i Wang go be more like smw than super mario wonder (the bubble kill the enemie when touch it and pops the bubble doping a coin instead of traping a coin in the bubble) so it would just be a custom projectile powerup that throws a bubble that goes up, kills enemies when touched and thats it, its pretty simple, its not too complex as the boomerang or shuriken

It uses the bubble mario pallete, but its barelly noticiabble

Ill extend the desert tileset, so ill put the ruin on it
On w1 tileset i'll add the sakura village houses
And since ill remake the map, ill add a village on the map too
And levels beyond level 3 will have houses and such, same for level 1-A first area and ending area, 1-5, 1-6, 1-B and 1-C
On w3 tileset i'll add some holes on the ground with white eyes (like if theres a creature like a owl, or even a goomba or any enemy sleeping inside of it) and more other decorative tiles

Changed the checkpoint to smw checkpoint tape
Because imo its better
I even made some animations for when mario collect the checkpoint, and a iddle animation for it floating
(Not taking a pc screenshot since i turned it off after this)
Remade the idle animations for this
Its pretty simple:
The checkpoint keeps calmly moving up and down, like its floating, and for collecting, it bounces a little bit up

But i did it because i think its fun to animate stuff

You can literally show them a really peak and well designed level, but they will only focus on the tilesets
I think the reason why he does that is because of how ugly and unoriginal it is. Using ported graphics is like buying dog food for a cat. He likes to see original and creative things.

80% of the details in most of my tilesets are literally ported stuff, there are few things that are fully custom, and yet most people have said the graphics in my hack look beautiful

If you have seen the mod B1 is making, it Is using assets from other games but has been remade and not downscale, the same thing was done for SMBnext. I think his main complaint is that you are just straight up porting it, making it look bad, even if it doesn't look bad he still wouldn't like it. It's just the same exact asset from the other game
So he would probably say "if you are going to use nsmbu tilesets, just mod nsmbu" if you were to do this with nsmbw

im gonna make a brazen assumption n say it might be people dont think ports are bad, theyve just only heard that they are. and so when they see your hacks where they look good they assume that it must be an exception

Fair point, I actually had the same feeling, probably because most of the times people port tilesets they're very low effort and people makes bland levels with them
Also, this reasoning doesn't really make much sense to me, for me, downscaling and prerendering them is pretty much the same, it will have the same resolution in game with slight quality changes
That does not make sense, there is no difference if you prerender or use an image from wii/u, the ds can not handle all the shades of colours as the engine

See what b1 did was he used nsmb2 styled tilesets but edited the tileset to fit the nsmbw style.
also fun fact, your opinion on ported assets is completely the opposite of b1's opinion. you say its ok to use ported assets, b1 says otherwise.

So, i decided, w2, w4 and wβ are pretty good imo, so the ones i'll remake are: w1, w3 and w5
Ill add more levels to those worlds too
W5 will have level 4,5,6,A,B,C (level A, B and C will be secret space levels, while 4 5 6 will be the volcano ruins ones
W4 will also have 4,5,6, and level C
And w1 will have level B and C
W1 if i get the smw goal pole thingy, ill extend the tileset and add the house thing to the tileset, so will have sakura and village levels on w1
