I never understood tilesets, why is there always a glitched out version under the normal tileset?
every tileset uses 2 or 4 palettes, thereβs some tilesets that have all the graphics in a single palette so the second one makes it look like what u said
It took me about 3 minutes for me to understand but i understood
It's a bit hard to explain, tilesets can have either 2 or 4 plattes as Frosyt saud, every palette has a different set of colours, which means that if there's an object in the first palette, it'll be the same in the different palettes but it'll be adapted to the colors of said palette, making it look like it's corrupted
what will be the mechanic of your train level?
Since it will be a castle, it will be a autoscroller train, diferent from w3 train that is a normal level
At the end i will see what boss fits

I think that would be missleading if the spikes was on the helmet, since when the player crouches the shell gets on the back, and the helmet on top, see:

Train level looks dope, even the Bowser Jr fight despite it having the regular gameplay
I have an idea for a "custom" boss, Monty Tank is in front of the train, you can't get off the train so you just gotta return the bombs he throws at you, or to make it easier some Bob-Ombs will also spawn on the train, if you wanna play it risky, jump on the Monty Tank and immediately get back on the train as you bounce off
Idk if it's hard to do, I heard the bosses are kinda hard-coded

I just watched both videos, overall the level design is really nice but it feels empty most of the times, you should add more blocks and/or coins to make the level feel less emptu

And my biggest complain is that the level is way too long, I'd seriously make it shorter or increase the autoscroll speed
the Bowser Jr fight looks pretty cool tho
one big complaint i have tho is the fact that you can fall through the wagon connectors, even though they look THE SAME as the semisolids you can stand on
i'd suggest to make something that looks thinner and doesn't feel solid, otherwise it can be confusing
also something interesting is how the level theme looks (bg). the transition feels too sudden. i'd suggest to make some part of the level where you enter the train, and when you exit, the background is changed. that could be cool
or just a pipe enter at some point that leads to another area with the background change
and little bit darker imo (not using the lightest colour of red, it also helps to see if it's solid or something etc), atleast i would've done that

oh yea when you import a nitro paint bg, the other one of the same slot seems to break
Remember that the settings are different for top and bottom BG's, and compress the NCL after you import the new one, try also using the "change palette" tool in the NSC editor
the same happened to me too but all I could really guess was that the image used too many tiles so I just didnβt use nitropaint
(I only tested once)
Also, are you using latest NitroPaint? The tutorial works for older versions, I haven't really tested with the latest version yet

placing (the goofy ahh) water tiles while there's lava will also kill the player and act as lava btw (i tried this years ago)
also the order in which you place them (or the z order, which can be changed with the buttons), determines which liquid gets loaded, i think

Yeah, water is invisible by default, you have to adjust its transparency for it to be visible
Also, there's not such a setting for the lava 
There's a bug you can try if you want transparent lava, and is adding water and lava in the same view

If you place a 1x2 sloope and a plataform with a pokey, one time the pokey will go to the slope and be stuck there forever
Guys i need to remember that 2-4 and 2-6 will use ice pokeys (all the 2-4, 2-A, 2-5 and 2-6 i will make since i have some ideas for it)
But in the other worlds me and mosquito will make levels
I need to finish the 5-tower, 4-ship (almost finished tho) 1-ship, 5-B, 5-final caslte (i will only finish that level when all the other levels, powerups, cuatom final boss and tank & train wheels animation code hacks are finished)
Mosquito did a bΓ΄nus room in 5-A that is good asf
And β-1 also need to be finished, but star world will only get work on it after final caslte is done (that need all those code hacks and levels to be finished)
There are 4 code hacks (boomerang, acorn, animation and final boss) and <idk> levels to finish before getting on that
But as i said one time, the levels will take some time, so its really probably that the code hacks get finished before (the final boss code hack will not be asked before i start working on final castle battle area)
And theres no reason to rush anything, so even if i finish the levels and the codes arent finished, ill wait, retouch some levels, some tilesets, some level intros, and wait until the codes are finished to work on 5-finalCastle
Since i think that if anything get rushed, it gets bad
Imo newer ds is a proof of that, its a good mod, but it didn't get rushed it would be better

What's rushed about Newer DS? I thought making new bosses was just straight up difficult, is there anything aside from the bosses?
I mean, skawo rushed it, it got finished in like 2 years, a giant mod get finished in 2 years is rushed to me, and skawo said that they didn't had time to do some stuff or the mod would delay to release
I will only make a release date reveal trailer when everything in ssmb is finished, so i would only test levels See if theres bugs, etc
So i would release the game 2 months after the trailer release (ex: release date: 10/6/2022" but i posted that trailer at 8/6/2022)
And yet i would only do that if i finished every level and everything in game, otherwise i would not post the trailer

Try reducing the horizontal lenght of the view to the minimum and move the view to the very left of the editor
