Why i said this thing on the channel? The game name is literally LAVA Super mario bros π€
Returning to the sakura smb, i also made an Little change on the star coin, using the original nsmbds model plus an model sculpt that i made, let me render it and i will show here
pretty cool! there are 2 things that bug me tho:
- stretched up texture, like the poisonous water, and the paths, but the paths are alright
- looks kinda empty. might need some bushes and barriers or something

Guys, i want your opnion, How about do 6 worlds to the hack? The theme of the worlds would be:
W1: (already planned before) sakura plains
W2: (already planned before) sakura mountain
World 3: sakura desert (featuring pink sand and unique palm trees with pink leaves)
World 4: sakura beach (featuring pink grass and the same trees as world 1)
World 5: snow sakura land (snow on sakura plains tileset? π€)
World 6: lava valley (orange lava, Black/gray Rock tileset with burned pink grass and dead World 1 trees with bowsers castle)
I would not reccomened making a full game hack tbh, it can be hard to keep motivation, but if you were to give each world only like four or five levels, it could be cool
pros and cons of this change:
pros: the hack will get bigger, there will probably be unique and fun levels, along with all the custom maps for all the worlds
Cons: it can delay the release to 2026

Well, i only noticed it because when i maked those path animations tests i maked the level goals on the start of the level, and only 1-1 haved it
probably the vram being overloaded

try exporting the level to make a backup, then remove all of a kind of enemy to see if it solved the issue. try again by removing another kind of enemy

never saw this issue with the sub nohara tileset but i alternative got it with the junglekusa sprite for some reason, even tho the level was mostly empty
I removed the sakura leafs effect now i will make a test
yeah, combining the junglekusa, the falling leaves, and the fog, is probably a lot

The jungle kussa is a really large texture
Using it with many other things can easily overflow vram
I will remove the clouds effect too
The game stopped the slow down

also a few recommendations for your world maps:
- use a texture that looks like grass rather than a single color
- try making the bottom of some of the bushes (and other ground deco) not look like a straight line (you can, with an image editor, erase a bit of the bottom left and right corners)

It's because I once saw a codehack on nsmbhd that made Mario fall slower when he jumps, and maybe I'll look for that to put it in the hack
and taking advantage of the fact that I liked this winged shell, it would be cool to use this patch

It's because i didn't use the sloope of the 2nd pallete so when i drawed it i put it only on the 1st pallet, and when imported to NSMBe the pallete of the 2nd pallete sloope turned black

I broke the ENTIRE palette by importing bitmaps from existing palletes ππ
you can pretty easily grab the palette from a fresh rom luckily
I hate how easy it is breaking the jyotyu colors
You have to be extremely careful with what you do or what you modify

The screen graphics pallete are also very breakable

I will need to draw the shell texture based on the pallet of the shuriken plant

you will need to open all of the jyotyu palettes (or the one you use in your hack), then export all bitmaps, edit them with an external image editor, then reimport everything
in this case i think itd be more practical to hand modify the palette or draw the sprite in or smthn
sinc its only 16 tiles n the blue shell only uses prolly a small handful of colours
i think 16 colours if my guestimate from the rank icon is right

If i use the nitroWav patch i will use those 2 songs (daisysTheme.mp3 = title screen, ChaiKingdom.mp3 = some sakura levels)
(Of course, the songs arent converted to nitroWav yet, but i will convert it, maybe today)
you will need to convert them into wav files first, and use a sample rate lower than 32768
i'd suggest using Audacity for that
and you will need the nitro converter tool, as well as the script to import the wav files into the rom
