I've been a Stay for years now and still can't seem to get a concerte answer! Ok so his English name is Christopher Bang? And his Korean name Bang Chan? This is what's really confusing me. I thought he was just doing last name + "-chan" (like the Japanese honorific), but it seems like that's just his name? Aren't 2-syllable names rare in Korean?

Small bit of backstory: In 2013 I was diagnosed with Lymphoma (and then it returned at the end of 2014). After all my chemo treatments and transplant I got a tattoo to commemorate my victory with a quote from a show that helped me through that fight. Let’s be real—Changbin is the backbone of Stray Kids’ sound. His talent for writing, producing, and delivering some of the most iconic rap lines in K-pop is undeniable. So I just want to clarify… the ‘this dish so bussin’ lyrics in “Super Bowl” is a misuse of AAVE. You never put ‘so’ before ‘bussin’ because it doesn’t make sense. It’s always used on its own, like ‘this food bussin,’ or just ‘bussin’ by itself. I hope in the future, when using AAVE, SKZ has someone fluent in the dialect who can guide them and make sure they’re using it correctly and respectfully.

i don't understand korean so i pay attention to the sounds of the lyrics more than i do for english, and i've noticed that some lines are so pleasing to the ears?? i was listening to domino and 'hanareul almyeon yeoreul aldeon ai gogae' sounds so??? nice????? i can't really explain it, it just scratches an itch ig?? are there any lyrics you find particularly euphonious?

i’ve been feeling nostalgic and going through stray kids’ older discography, and noticed double knot, levanter, and astronaut are all on skz2020. i thought that the reason clé: levanter’s release was delayed was so that they could rerecord all the songs. is there a difference between the versions of double knot, levanter, and astronaut on clé: levanter and on skz2020? aren’t the originals ot8 already?

Partly just a thought exercise for fun!
