beautiful launch
and we're off!
supersonic
falcon never disappoints
Smooth

we got a thumbs up
they look so bored
wasnt a expecting it but it happened
kerolox plume very classic looking
I heard that as "one problem" đ
same đđ

the spacex suits remind me of this (been recently replaying pokemon sun)
MECO
does max-q feel different for the crew

Are we sure the SpaceFox is at home atm?
lovely view of the engine

i set an alarm
I think I'm at a 20 second delay
Not even on purpose
why is the mvac pulsating
ooer
yoink yoink
GO POLARIS
which is cool because I don't see anyone shouting "oh the humanity" so I can relax
is this normal?
wont be 180

Yep landing will be a few minutes later than usual
Pretty much the same as Starlink missions

what's the zero g indicator
thats the 2nd stage cam looking into the trunk
that weird pet floating at the back of the camera view
Wow views have been so pretty
its like a little spacex suit
my eyes burn
Is this the longest out in the timeline a landing had ever been?
oh ik i was specifically asking what the object itself is
or refers to
I'm so tired. But excited to have seen it. I'm gonna get a good 4 ush hours of sleep now
"what the fuck is going on!"
lmao
sep!
this is payback for when Inspiration4 launched at like 4:30am for me
there goes dragon
what a view
Go PD! Godspeed!
Nah, they've been a minute later than this in the past
It's just later than the normal Starlinks we see launch, nothing especially crazy about this one
Beautiful
Almost identical
look how high they already are
Guess we even now. For whatever it's worth
godspeed o7
Damn thatâs wild
Alright back to bed for 2 hours
Yeah same lol
Hell the view looks amazing
You can clearly tell it's already much higher than previous flights
Same
NOSECONE!!
are they doing a highly elliptical orbit for all 3 days?
ooo skywalker
cosenone
no
skywalkers first view of space
Yes, but the apogee varies with time
"It's just a fisheye lens"
"It's clearly a disc!!"
I'm clearly going delusional with sleep deprivation
Sick view
interesting
ok this is cool
you can go on a website and see where dragon is at any time
finally I can sleep...
they did it
they doing the EVA on my Birthday!!!
Quite the birthday gift I'd say!
it was a little bright
I wish I could get these views..
Oh wow they launched
thanks, Cosmic Penguin!
hell yeah almost a NAFO Fella in space
I think Asteroid will be my new pfp
jesus christ 125d turnaround for the booster
124 days 14 hours 41 minutes and 49 seconds
tempted to put nerd emoji but i wont
heres the website to track dragon if anybody is interested
Well, bad time for US viewers for the EVA alas
https://www.spacex.com/launches/mission/?missionId=polarisdawn
The Polaris Dawn crew will attempt the EVA from Dragon on Thursday, September 12 at 2:23 a.m. ET. If needed, a backup opportunity is available on Friday, September 13 at the same time.
Itâs prime time for me and Europeans though
niceeee
Is the Polaris dawn EVA gonna be added to the events tab?
Waut
It is on there
It just has the same fucking icon as the other EVAs
Incomprehensible
@bright mica We can use a custom Polaris Dawn/SpaceX EVA banner image
YES
nice time for me
Yup
Are they doing any experiments during the Eva?
I'm VERY pissed off that I missed this.
Had no idea that the inclination was high enough
and every other time
every other FUCKING time
that something like this happens
it's cloudy
last night was crystal clear
but I decided to fall alseep
BRUH.
Why so earlyyyyyyyy
i wanna squawk box ffs
please god
i just wanna listen in on this mission all day
i think 7:23 AM BST
<t:1726122180:f>
Huh just realized thereâll be two orbital crewed launches in a row
MS-26 is next
Speaking of which when MS-26 thread
oh hey
:(
oh fuck it launched
let the anxiety begin
fucking tomorrow night spacewalk je sus
real
Approximately 12 hours of freedom until quarantine starts for Crew-9.
LMAO
hows that funny
aha
During this mission, Dragon will travel repeatedly through the orbital altitudes of over 10 thousand satellites and bits of space debris.
No room for error in our calculations.
oh my
holy shit half past 1 in the afternoon i am balling
man
Only real thing he's said so far
This makes it seem a lot worse than it actually is, this is an incredibly basic problem that every single spacecraft deals with and that we have well established solutions for
This reminds me alot of the news coverage of Apollo 13
everything that the newsfolk would say were technically true, but they said it in such a sensational way that it guarantees your desire to keep posted on how everything goes
yeah this
the way falcon lights up the night is insane
i wonder how the sound changes inside the capsule during ascent
methalox falcon
Shouldâve seen SLS
That thing was like the sun
unfortunately just like polaris dawn i fell asleep
i kinda wanna go for A2
oh my god....
https://shop.spacex.com/collections/trending/products/polaris-dawn-zero-gravity-indicator
Does Isaacman not have a middle name?
Idk what to put in the last column here on my crew list for Isaacman and Poteet
"Badass"
For context it's for the agency
idk whether to list "Polaris Program" or "Private" for Isaacman
and for Poteet I just straight up don't know
Polaris
what about Scott?
sick dude
oh my
I have so much shit in my house already but this is so tempting đ©
I've sorta got a goal of one day going to the US and watching Artemis IV (first launch of B1B)
Just put SpaceX for all of them
They sign the SpaceX logo so it makes sense
And theyâre trained by SpaceX
Good to know the shitposting remains intact
real
It looks like a hot tub đ
REAL
nah they snuck me in there
look bottom right of it
its attached to the side
what
I wish if they were testing Starlink already they would stream the coast phase with it
Obviously we donât need 24/7 internal cams but the views outside would be nice
24/7 internal cams would be an invasion of privacy lmao
Yeah they def shouldnât do internal cams but I can see external cams
I mean they already literally waived their right to live, what's a little spying
i just want the audioooooooooooooooooooo
honestly couldnt gaf about the views Gemini 11 did it already
huh the hatch is open. so the hatch is not the vacuum seal?
Give me the audio of space I want to hear what it sounds like
oh yeah that makes sense
are we gonna get a crew update before the eva
like an event were the crew talks to the ground with video feed
Ough
hey, guys, i cant believe i missed watching polarisdawn launch, i watched it just now.
Damn the weather
lol you too?
Dragonâs apogee-raising burn is underway and will last ~eight minutes
Yippee
The apogee-raising burn is now complete. The Polaris Dawn crew and Dragon are now on their way to an altitude of ~1,400 km
Achievement unlocked - apogee 1,400.7 km
Forward bulkhead Draco firing during burn đ„
WE ARE WITNESSING HISTORY
oh huh were they pulsing
the lighting makes this look so fake but god damn
have we seen a view like this before
oh my gosh thatâs amazing
yeah I think we heard em doing that during isp4 too
my guess is that this played during one of the stream blackouts
they played all of those videos like, 4 times
Yeah it played but was laggy af the first time
yeah well I gave up and went to sleep at T-02 so
L if you fell asleep
https://vxtwitter.com/SpaceX/status/1833734681545879844
New Zealand North Island visible
Polaris Dawn and Dragon at 1,400 km above Earth â the farthest humans have traveled since the Apollo program over 50 years ago
đ 668 đ 150
Hell fuckign yeah
Thats so fucking cool
I mean yeah
this is just sublime
it's beautiful
so cool
Dragon and the Polaris Dawn crew have completed six orbits of Earth at ~1,400 km. Over the next five hours, Dragon will perform four burns to lower itself to an orbit of ~190 x 742 km in preparation for Thursdayâs spacewalk
oh so that was exclusively to break the altitude record
And to do a bunch of experiments
Like how the radiation affects humans and stuff
It would be dangerous to stay up there too long
how are we ever supposed to make it to Mars at this rate
that wasnt the only reason
More importantly, those high up orbits pose much much more debris danger than Lower orbits like ISS, or even 700km orbit
Also, Dragon just isnt built for outer space, unlike Orion or Apollo CM.
Man that alone is some of the coolest spaceflight footage I've ever seen
12 hours til spacewalk!
@SpaceX Thanks for the #Artemis shoutout, @rookisaacman and cheers to our friends @spacex for keeping the Polaris Dawn crew safe and exploring the unknown! We are going!!
Orbiting Earth on board Dragon, the Polaris Dawn crew talked with families of @FoldsofHonor, an organization providing educational scholarships to spouses and children of America's fallen and disabled militaryâŠ
đ 32 đ 8
wow its cramped in there
Hair must be a bloody nightmare
i bet jared cant wait for starship to be up and running, 6 decks worth of living space
Whatâs happening on Polaris 2
idk, but iirc Polaris 3 is starship
Ye but is it docking with starship or actually launching on it
Apollo 9
guh!?
with dragon?
i saw a render of a possible starship interior and like wow thats so much bigger than even the Shuttle
its getting close to like Star Trek sizes
before the HLS unmanned landing, or?
Which is?
testing of the lander in LEO
Howâs that happen on Polaris 2 tho
did they pull that flag out of their pockets or what
so why donât they all 4 get to go outside?
a 4 person EVA on the first ever privately-operated EVA
two people going outside is already having a bunch of people bite their nails, so idk about more than that, let alone the entire crew
i feel like going outside isnât really the risky part tho
itâs the depress
everyone has to depress anyway
you'll need at least one person inside regardless to pilot the craft
theyâre going out one by one no?
I'd think so yeah
isn't it only one person going out-out?
and the other just remains at the hatch
kinda like the Apollo J-mission deep-space EVAs
or Gemini 4 or 9a
wait someone is going off the ladder??
is there???
I hear "yes" from some people and "no" from others
so
I'm assuming yes
also the skywalker sure as hell looks like a one-person thing anyways
nvm nvm
looks like they're both gonna be continuously holding onto the skywalker
they have tethers right
umbilicals
mm
i donât think those umbilicals even allow them to go past the skywalker
theyâre quite restrained
that would make sense
part of me was hoping to see at least one of them (Gills, maybe?) go for the Ed White moment
but I guess this is the safer option on an already ambitious mission
she does seem like sheâd do that lol
it'd definitely be cool to see a capsule float-around eva for the first time in literally decades
Then again they don't have any equivalents of the ZipGun so they wouldn't be able to maneuver around unless they pinched a hole in their glove to fly around like Iron Man
erm you mean mark watney?
shhhhhhhhh
hopefully the cams are good
there's really nothing to worry about
This is the riskiest thing in human spaceflight in a long time
uh hello we just flew crew on soyuz literally today
and starliner however long ago
It is risky though
is it? They seem to be taking the conservative option wherever possible
At least soyuz is flight proven and Starliner has gone through a bajillion NASA reviews and is based on proven technology
I'm all for pushing boundaries but
Their suits don't even have proper MMOD shielding what do you mean they're taking the conservative option
Yeah itâs far less proven
soyuz is flight proven sure
it is also being produced by a nation in wartime with zero money lol
not going thru nasa reviews is dodgy indeed but they arenât even going all the way outside
and there have been more and more incidents in recent years
Is this really that risky compared with Shenzhou 7, which also have a stand-up EVA on a (at least in that case it was only half-depressurized) free-flying small spacecraft and on an EVA suit that was also unproven till then? (though the difference was also there - the 2nd astronaut on the EVA simply stayed in the orbital module on a Russian suit that the Chinese got from cooperations)
The really risky part to me is that itâs completely depressurizing, so if it doesnât repressurize or something else happens then they might be done for
Pretty sure they come home if it wonât repress
real af
theyâre using the nosecone for that iirc
any debris on an eccentric orbit passing their flight path can still mess them up
Polaris Dawn Flight Day 2 Update
The Polaris Dawn crew began Flight Day 2 with an incredible milestone â Dragon reached an apogee of more than 1,400 kilometers, marking the farthest humans have traveled in space since the completion of the Apollo program over 50 years ago. When is it
The sounds of @inspiration4x DragonđResilience during a phasing burn.I described in moment as an orchestra but its a more percussion-like rhythm & very pleasant. So thankful for @SpaceX's talented team & all the giants @NASA whose shoulders we stand on. @PolarisProgram up soonđ€
That's so cool he's just recording in a spacecraft posted to Twitter
this was from i4
still sick as hell
Holy the software on those screens is insanely cool
Also I did not expect the engines to sound like that
I want footage like that of re-entry sounds
I think Orion had a re-entry sound video but it was a terrible mic
And ascent imagine hearing stage sep and stuff
How long is the spacewalk supposed to last?
15 mins each
Oh they all get to go out?
two
jared and idk
So it should be done by 3:30 am est right
I thought it was 2 hours
Bc I donât wanna lose too much sleep
i mean technically i dont have to be up until 11 tomorrow
It seems 2 hours is the whole time between decompression and repress
Sarah
4 people exposed to the vacuum of space..
isn't that a record?
as far as i know the most before that was 3 on STS-49
Yes
Yeah
There was once a CSS and an ISS EVA at the same time IIRC
was that more than 3 people?
https://planet4589.org/space/astro/lists/evas.html
Nah
There was one on the same day, but the CSS one ended way before the ISS (Russian one) started
yeah I'm absolutely gonna be asleep for this too
fuck
I feel the tired sleepy pulling at me
the one time you decide to sleep
Wait when is EVA
Not really keeping up with US times
1 hour
Oh
They should be going live at any time and... welp
They haven't even created a broadcast for it yet it seems
Doesn't bode too well me thinks
Now live: https://x.com/i/broadcasts/1OyJAZnwZqLxb
Huh 4:50 AM eastern
đż
Yeah it's delayed
https://www.spacex.com/launches/mission/?missionId=polarisdawn
Here it says 5:58 am EDT
That stream start time is 2 minutes before BlueBird-1 launches
god fuck my sleep schedule
stream starts before walk no?
guess I need to get to sleep as fast as possible now
Yes 1 hour before
LOL i checked the website just before it updated
yeah looks like its sleep time LOL
Wait we have ages
All systems are looking good for the Polaris Dawn crew to perform the first spacewalk from Dragon today. The EVA webcast begins at 4:55 a.m. ET â https://t.co/WpSw0gzeT0
Bruh I cooked dinner early for this đ

Everyone would be in this chat if it started
i was wondering that..
can you share the LIVE link when it starts here in discord? i use Blockers in PC and phone so really dependent on discord for imp youtube videos
itâs not on yt
Crew-3 to Crew-7 recups: huh?
Some channel might broadcast on YT for sure? NSF?
yeah
Yes
Then share that link once its there
oh i forgot spacex has allergy from youtube these days
x videos yeah
Polaris Dawn Mission Commander Jared Isaacman and Mission Specialist Sarah Gillis will perform a "stand-up" EVA outside Crew Dragon Resilience to test out ne...
thanks comrade
They delayed it??
Yes
Welp looks like I'm not going to be watching this. sighs in America
you should man
itâs at a perfect time for me and i still canât watch it
why polish bro?
wdym why polish
you are from poland right?
yes
It's at 5 AM for me now
and its like 7 am right now there
1 am here amigo
thatâs not even bad theyâre gonna leave the capsule at like 5:30 for you
wake up early, it wont happen again
@random spear it would be 2:30am for u, would you be online?
I think 3:30
Idk
idk
I'm going to be in a lab working myself to a headache inspecting insects in ethanol fumes
Well
Again
wow, sending them to space for experiments soon?
lol
Excuse yourself saying you need to review "important materials"
Problem solved

yeaah
remember the last time you decided to sleep during an important space related event
hopefully but i dunno
trying to shift my sleep schedule for the launch tomorrow so
cmon donât miss it
itâs a starlinks tomorrow
this is a once ever
thing
youâll get another starlink
depends what my body does
your body better wake the fuck up
iâm going up to vandy lmao
yeah but for a starlink
looking to bag my 7.25th launch
Moin
itâs not just me whoâs going
if my body stays up
i should make some food
i donât have any lol
ice cubes then
I gotta drive in the morning so I need sleep else I'd get up to see spacewalk. Hope all goes well though
Wait is there gonna be a stream for the spacewalk?
yes
Ye
I wish it was 3 for me
everything good happens at 3 you know it
Ughhhhhh it got pushed back
again?
No
ah
gooooooooooood morning
me when
Honestly if It was pushed a little later I may consider then waking up early
same game plan for me, fall asleep with an alarm
gooooooooooood night again, cya in 4 hours
Night chat. Hopefully I'll wake up to a perfect spacewalk
I honestly thought PD would scrub the night of the launch
i donât have that level of trust in my ability to wake up with that short of notice
woke up mega suprised
Course. It always seems like something goes wrong when something I wanted to watch and didn't

Me either
usually when I set an alarm it always ends up being scrub and I awaken in vain
My worst fear
better safe than sorry
i need the sleep school is way too early and it's not around the block
Alright, this one for real. Goin sleepy sleep chat. Sending good vibes in my slumber
Vale.
The stream is 720p again guys đŠ
honestly I'm not worried at all
spacex wait there's a launch
I wonder whereâs that spare live stage at Hawthorne where the BlueBird stream being aired from
Up to 3 external cameras, this one, nosecone camera, and skywalker camera
next to the flight controllers
May also have helmet views too
Did they delay it so that the AST F9 launch team could watch it lmao?
NASA astronaut joining webcast
"for those of us who have never been to space"
Same
But I also donât wanna watch on my phone screen
Iâm gonna be running off 5 hours of sleep today so today should be fun
i always run off 5 hours of sleep :D
Ive had a insane sleep schedule all week so
(not something to be proud of at all)
Rare full SpaceX mission control
Probably because theyâve got two missions happening rn?
I still havenât made it
you can do it!
is that ckemp
Iâve decided im gonna watch Jared come out of the capsule and then go back to sleep
whatâre they doing
Soon hopefully an EVA
putting suits on
They sure are
Suits are already on
Why are you up!
The little thing at the bottom hasn't updated for some reason
That or I'm entirely wrong
Why is the stream so bad lol
its not
Its isnt idk
Literally 0 information what's happening currently
well like
EVA time
its happening
Like it's supposed to be almost happening and they are just talking about how it feels to wear a space suit
suit leak checks soon
Meanwhile n$f are just yelling movie references l
Ok so it's not happening in 6 minutes
fell asleep and by some miracle woke up
Because a monster is in the ship and everyone is panicking, jared has assimilated it
I set 5 alarms
Me every morning
probably a dumb question but they do have tethers right
ye
they have spiderwebs
oo
they are talking about the record
there's a suit telemetry thing now
.
Oh yeah
no one ever said anything about tethers
"we should be getting comms pretty soon" comms immediately happen
there's a bunch of life support tubes
what am I looking at
seat rotation coming up
but that doesn't seem like a very good thing to bet your weight upon
seat rotation
noice
Eoa
rotation complete
Equisition of Aignal
what is the target orbit btw
wouldn't it be funny if the spacewalker kicked really hard on the ship to propel themselves away and dragon had to activate reaction control thrusters to fetch him/her back?
thats what I was thinking lol
lmao i had that thought too
would be such a mess
i can only imagine the headlines
OK but in for all mankind there would be a debris field coming up
probably the case with most movies set in space
ooh
oh cool
Woah
there's the tether
JARED!
Looks like hes passing an egg
Probably just easier to assume that position
HUD checkout
man I love being a spaceflight fan because it means I have to wake up at ridiculous hours to watch things aaaa
now waiting for the go/no-go
Fr itâs great
Its 3am I am tried of this
this is a great birthday present tho
yeah he's probably gotta be posing stiffly due to pressurized suit đ€Ł
Once Jared goes out Iâm going back to bed
me during the great starlink 4am streak of whenever that was
he standing like a figurine lmao
Jared action figure when
no head mobility
no x video feed dont fucking buffer on me now
That is one hell of an insult
Low quality Jared looks like mark watney
He does
He does
He does
He does
He does
is he gonna iron man this bitch
Whyâs the hood not down
perhap
no need, still inside
He does
Are they playing csgo rn?
he's fidgeting with the hatch!
oo
OH
but it's not scheduled to open for like 30 mins
RELEASE MEEEEE
lol
he yearns for the space
...
wonder why the oxygen goes into his thigh
then why did I wake up now
hey it's exciting. build up hype until he finally gets out
they did not update that thing the whole time
The Polaris Dawn crew and SpaceX mission operators are GO for the first spacewalk from Dragon. The EVA will begin when suit pressurization and the nitrogen purge initiate
yessir
no I value my sleep minutes but I value the fucking mission more
Hoooooooly shit
Holy fucking shit
Holy fuck
jared is like LET ME THE FUCK OUTA HERE WE ARE CLEAR
I AM NOW LOCKED IN, DO THIS HOE
WE ARE GO
SpaceX is GO
ok lets do this
GOOO
Jared rn
go!
they call the suit nitrogen purge and pressurization the start of the EVA but the hatch still doesn't open for half an hour
ÂĄAnda pues!
Crew is GO
i mean yeah no surprises there you cant just immediately open the hatch lmao
Crazy that all it is is just a quick close of the visor
all 4 is go
GOING
EVA has begun
WE JOE
we're on the edge of the cliff
exciting
First fully private EVA!
holy shit it's actually happening
probably way cheaper EVA than NASA's
"I'll do the math on UTC in a little bit"
joeing
alr we off
10:12 đ
visors down
yeah I know that bc it's always 10 hours behind me
Reminder that the crowd behind mission control is watching at 3AM
it is 3 am brotha
I would
Hawthorne time
Oh some minutes ago then
Secondary flow of oxygen is underway, which will primarily provide cooling to the suits throughout the spacewalk
Jared want out
that's complete
Donât blame him
The suits have switched to their primary flow path, which weâll use to fully pressurize ahead of suit leak checks
primary o2
Shit I would
hiss
HOW MANY SNAKES ARE ON THIS MOTHERFUCKING DRAGON?
what's psia
Yes
absolute pressure
Nah itâs the pressurization
there's the hissing sound and then the hhhhhhhhshhhh
Bweshssgdgdgddgdddfffffffdsgsgssssssssssghhhhhhhh
sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
the don't seem that nervous but I know deep deep down they really are
God it's so loud
but they're doing a fantastic job so far
jared:
mmm noise
oh the leak checks are done?
Suit leak checks complete. The final pre-breathe is underway to help purge all remaining nitrogren from the crewsâ bodies
Moment
Someone make 10 hours of dragon venting noise to sleep/study to
yup gotta equalize to nothing
I imagine the pressure has to be very very exactly to nothing once the hatch is open
before even
yeah matching the vacuum
Yeah or else kapoof
How can they hear anything
no dude this is nerve wracking
the whole thing is pretty sketchy. I would'vr launched a custom airlock into orbit and then attach it to the dragon. that way if something happens to Jared they can just detach and go home immediately
What? Lmao
I think the mission is fine as is

they should have put an inflatable airlock in the trunk and docked with it on orbit
this isn't the first time this has been down in spaceflight just the first time for dragon
the OM used to be the soyuz airlock
the Apollo ending
had a conversation with a friend and he brought up an interesting thing
something in 3
This
minutes
air lock but it inflates
they used them on voskhod didn't they

yup
oh yeah I guess it works because there's nothing pushing into it from outside!
I've been on earth too long
we all have
if jared had an issue and the umbilical seperated (but the suit kept pressure) could they maneuver the dragon to "scoop" him back up? (friend brought it up and i was thinking abt it)
lol]
probably maybe
theoretically
This was mentioned earlier
it would eat him
why would the suit keep pressure
If Rook was in a spin he could perforate his suit once he touches skywalker
All of the thrusters on dragon are almost certainly completely disabled rn to avoid an accidental firing
the regular dracos are gonna be used during the spacewalk iirc
Only bulkhead Dracos are disabled
ACTIVATE THE SUPER DRACOS
They are?
The service module Dracos are active
Guh
Why
I would assume the suit can keep pressure and has some oxygen without the umbilical for a short time. but I don't know at all
they wanna do the EVA over the US right?
Dragon will reorient trunk facing the sun before hatch opening
Oh I see
I wouldn't think it matters right
I should have not woken up so early
Same
right before this started I lost all my desire to sleep
what's the bet they abort
oh the trunk section is attached. they could've stored an inflatable airlock in the trunk, then Jared can go out and fetch it and attach it to the hatch, so that he can use it to go out of the hatc-
Initiating cabin venting
YES
orbital docking:
cabin vent
cabin bye air
SI
Letâs go
air:
look at the pressure go
Venting
They've been doing it
no but each step is more and more "doing it"
They are joeing
The crew when they open the door too soon
I'm starting to seriously pray for these people, the Lord is with them
FOR REAL LMFAO
ABORT
shuddup
shush
shut
callese
Look at the light cominh in
mods silence this mf
my nerves are getting nervy
my excitement is supressing the nerves
Look at that light man
I can hear the Interstellar music oh shit
Its calling him
NO JARED NOT YET, WE AREN'T DONE VENTING
"i see a lot of people asking why its taking so long, you dont want to shock pressurise the suit"
lol#
especially not on the first round
psi absolute
relative to absolute
why are they using imperial measurements? don't spacex usually use metric?
rather than 1 atm
psi is such a stupid unit
psia is pressure relative to vaccum, vs gague pressure (psig) which is relative to ambient pressure
ohhh that's neat
not now anti-standardoids
I use PSI for my tyres so I am not particularly annoyed
This is the typical way to differentiate pressure
I use metric for everything else
i use bar
i mean i make fun of americans using imperial, but i rly cant say much (british)
my country is metric so i must use metric
or you can just not care like a normal human being
mine is the uk but i still use metric
pints and gallons and tablespoons
I only care because spacex uses metric for everything else
and besides the United Kingdom uses both
TDRSS handover cool
it is so happening
I thought they were using only starlink
Real
really cool that nasa collabed with tee driss
nope !
the orbit is much less elliptical than I imagined
Nah thereâs a starlink demo or something tomorrow iirc
They aren't using Starlink for this operation
TDRS for communications, ground stations for video, and Starlink for demo's
ohhh
Trunk is pointed the wrong way during this for it to be used anyway
they need to add a navball idk what orientation it is in
excellent. let's stowaway in the trunk next time
Trunk is pointed to the sun
no one will see
they have trunk cams unfortunately
Need everyones pictures in the bottom right
They used it yesterday for family calls
anyone know how long jared and sarah will be outside for?
Oh huh
12min each
target = Sun, point retro-target
+-12min
12 minutes don't quote me on this
alright
Exactly
Only 7.5 min for EV2
they should do a danceoff
1 psia
one (1)
Iâm boutta accidentally fall asleep
How
they should've kept it full pressure for easier opening!
I was jittery
hatch open prep
0.9
Dragonâs cabin is below 1 psi and the spacecraft has repositioned its trunk to face the sun ahead of hatch opening
oh god I can see it moving
it is
ok HERE WE GO
Playing imperfect lock rn
we are so going
fitting
Hatch opening is underway. Commander @rookisaacman will unlatch the hatch and give it an initial pull to complete venting before Mission Specialist @Gillis_SarahE commands the hatch open
not good enough
GO for hatch opening

lower the pressure more
GO
oh we good
GGGG!!!!!!!!
?
ooh he moving
DALE!
HES DOING IT
ding
Iâm from New Zealand
