@peak swift the i5 is better as it has a more recent cpu and more ram. the graphics card on the i7 is pretty old, not worth the hit you'll take to performance by using older cpu and less ram.

sorry, was a bit occupied. as far as laptops go, the i5 is like mid tier. but... even an entry level gaming desktop will outperform it(on account of the laptop cpu having lower power)
