This is the most precise answer. VPN isn't itself against ToS, as some people use it to have better pings, or bypass government bans. But it can also be used for other means, that's why in some conditions VPN is against ToS. Above all that, the system detects any 3rd-party app that interacts with the game, such as GFX Tools, that are against ToS and bannable offense. As VPN apps are, by definition, Third-Party apps, they can trigger the detection system and lead to a ban.
It is thus not recommended to use them.

All grenades don't work in Vekendi.
Try reinstalling or you can try if there are any extra ram usage of your phone. If there is then try closing all running background apps. I think a fresh install should fix it if it doesn't it is more than likely server side issue or it device problem.
