What we heard from the team is that it is safe to use, @violet heath. We don't recommend using it cause it can cause few other in-game issued like ping fluctuation and some have faced the "abnormalities detected" due it as well. It also depends on how the person used the VPN and for what purpose. So simple answer is just it's not really necessary for the game and we don't recommend using it.

Frame-rate drop = poor response from server = lag. So yeah poor server response could be causing the issue (amongst others)
@night cloak not to be 'rude' FFS but focus should be on making sure the game works before trying to roll-out more things (skins, pets, etc.) that will increase lags. Many events seem are overlapping possibly making lag worse. Issuing a buggy update on the same day as a new RP week does not help as people had to wait until it was partially fixed..I lost 3 days and trying to catch up on RP missions with servers that do not respond/match or take overly long to get in. All this happening at the same time that hackers roam free through the servers. What does BUG-G say in answer? 'Be patient' but with no offer of compensation for lost rank due to glitches, lost time for missions, losses due to hackers, etc. I hope BUG-G can appreciate why people are a little impatient when BUG-G's priorities seem to be counter-productive to solving the problems.
