@stoic flower I don't know if you can do it in the options on the phone, looks like there's a patch on XDA but I can't recommend flashing updates if you don't know what you are doing

what I would do is turn off the 5g signal on the router

#

then the phone will automatically fall back to the 2.4ghz signal. I have an issue with poor 5ghz signal penetration in my house so i have it turned off on the router so all devices use 2.4ghz instead. Its a horrible compromise as ac is way faster but I'm on a wired connection 90% of the time and IDC

@stoic flower to get TWRP you would need to unlock your bootloader (if it is locked), root your device and flash it. This is not easy and the exact steps vary from device to device.

its a wifi standard. Most routers made in the last few years will have it.

@stoic flower there's no roadmap for future updates, they arrive when they are ready. Apparently though the chinese version has had several updates this month and we haven't had any since September so it seems likely we would get one soon. I don't think there would be much in the way of performance improvements in the next update if that's what you're after though.

@carmine reef yes when I heard ldplayer users were getting bans I thought I'd try memu to see what happened. I think a lot of these third party emulators modify the game files, leading to a ban. I guess in the future we might have to recommend that people ONLY use the official emulator and nothing else.

I've really got to get some sleep but I will try to explain my thinking - in the official emulator you can select the resolution (720p, 1080p or 2k) but on a mobile device you can't. Memu and other emulators also allow you to select a resolution that isn't the same as your display size. How does that work? what does memu hook into to change the resolution? answer is that is probably not all that different to what GFX Tool used to do and that's modify the game files. Nowadays, any modification of the game files will lead to a ban even if all you did was change the resolution. I didn't get a ban in Memu until I changed the resolution to 2k.

I guess, on the other hand, it might be down to the official anti-cheat not being present in Memu & LDplayer. But I don't see the TenProtect logo coming up when I start the game in the official emulator even though the files are there in the folder.

we had a case yesterday where the emulator was misbehaving because it was installed to the users F drive
I also think the emulator doesn't like limited user accounts, can only install it from an admin account but I'm not sure
thirdly, I don't know if the emulator can start with VT-x disabled, I don't think anyone has ever checked

#

so three things to test and see

#

whenever I have installed the emulator on any of my computers I have a) got VT-x enabled in the BIOS b) used an admin account and c) installed to C or D
it is possible that maybe at least one or all of those is a pre-requisite for a successful installation

I don't think the emulator requires VT-x or Tencent would tell people to enable it. But, there's a reference to it in the log files so worth a try as it takes like 5 minutes to check.

intel don't exactly make it clear what the benefits of VT-x really are. But if you use Hyper-V, vmware or virtualbox you'll be told "enabled VT-x to make your VM go faster". That's pretty much all most people need to know.

im having a strange issue the tencent emulator im using is lagging only on my main ID im using any other ID its working perfectly fine. i have gtx 980 and i7 4790K and im playing on 2k resolution for any ID and working fine no lag at all but when i use my Main ID the emulator is unplayble at even 720p resolution. the game is having FPS drop at every 5-10 secs like from 60 FPS to 30FPS.

And make sure it's using the 1050ti in the Nvidia control panel

@gleaming stratus are you in a country where the reward is available? just go the play store, tap on best games of 2018 and the reward will be in the list. When you make a purchase before the deadline it will automatically be applied. I got my discount earlier today and it all worked smoothly. I'm in the UK.

@opal monolith Sorry to tell you how to do it earlier
First go to the install folder then find "AndroidEmulator.exe"
Then right click and go to properties then
Go to the compatibility tab
then uncheck "Disable Fullscreen Optimization"
then click on "Change DPI Scaling"
Then check "Override High DPI scaling Behaviour"
And set it to application
Now you're done
