So, the time has finally come for me to be changing to a new computer, what do I need to do in order to have my saved data transfer to the new one? My game and all it's purchased content are via Epic

Either take a chance with the cloud backup system if Epic has one, or physically move your save files over via a USB Drive.

Alrighty, which ones should I take and where are they generally located in?

It’s the same concept as creating a backup, your saves are in the two folders (Mainly the COTW one the other has your settings) which are inside the folder called Avalanche Studios and that is normally located in your documents.

So sending your COTW and theHunter Call of the Wild folders as a zip file to the USB drive should do it.

(Also if you go that route make sure you turn the cloud save off before booting up the game so you can choose to start from the local files and not the cloud files).

You can also watch “how to backup Cotw vids” and test it by making a new game and then using the backup to restore your old save file before you move to the new computer so you’re confident in how it works.

I'll try that as soon as I can get the new computer set up, thank you for the advice! I'm not very savvy with managing files and folders apart from moving stuff to and fro between drives (most problems occur in finding necessary files)
