Hey there, this is the second time the primary color of the Apexview 7x42 binoculars has been changed though after a tiny bit of testing I’m not quite sure what causes it. The game keeps taking off the primary skin color (Easter premium wrap) though the secondary color (hunter power pack brown paint) stays intact.

What I was doing when it happened:

  • utilizing post feeders with tripods/treestands on Mississippi. Shooting raccoons and eastern cottontails with 22h, 22-250, raccoon squall caller and apexview 7x42 binoculars in loadout.
  • same thing happened using the same items (minus the caller) on Scotland a couple weeks ago

What doesn’t work to recreate it:

  • putting binoculars back in inventory
  • doing as above, but closing game and taking binoculars back out

Although these were done fairly quickly. Not sure if there’s a save point that would affect this. It may be worth noting that when I entered inventory again later, the wrap was still equipped as the primary color though the actual icon/preview for it looked like the default color.

Not sure there is anything to do, beyond re-applying the same skin tbh. At least posting it here might get some traction so the devs can see this + fix it.

Yeah exactly but I can "buy" the skins now again for free

Happened again. Something kind of notable happened though.

Console: PS5
Map: Yukon
Loadout: Genzero 8x50 night vision rangefinder binoculars, Apexview 7x42 binoculars, Arzyna .300 mag, elite 2 blue tents, conifer tripod stand, scent eliminator, Odin 4-12x scope, .30-06 polymer tips, .300 mag polymer tips, .375 polymer tips

What I did: was in a multiplayer session by myself when I lost connection (my internet had a small meltdown). Reopened application, started a new multiplayer session with just myself. Loaded in at an outpost and realized that the NV binoculars had suddenly lost their Halloween camo. Checked apexview binoculars, same thing.

Notable: the 2nd slot/“part 2” on the Genzero binoculars was the Halloween frankenpop camo, and appears to be the only slot that got set to default/empty “color”. However, The 1st slot/“part 1” on the Apexview is the one that seems to get wiped instead (Easter premium wrap)

As soon as I can hookup YouTube again I’ll link a video showing exactly what happened, in case it helps.

This has now happened with the elite 2 blue tents as well… bunny camo gone 😩
