I've noticed this issue in other posts, I have the same exact problem. Cannot hunt ducks or geese almost at all in multiplayer. I have everything that's needed. As soon as he leaves whether it is him getting kicked or leaving on his own accord the spawn rate of ducks changes drastically. the set ups are different at each location from one ground blind to 2 layout blinds to no blinds at all and just hunting out of a bush. Always running 20 decoys. Typically one dog in use.

Is it a spawn issue? In multiplayer to get geese to work, as host the hunting structures work but I had to tell my guests to go prone (ideally in a bush) >150m away from the decoys. Otherwise no geese landing, ever.

And whenever there seem to be very few, it just means they're flying elsewhere on the map. Fast traveling over finds them almost always. Or, one exception: Sometimes when most of a group were killed but one or two are still alive, I've noticed I may have to kill the tiny group to get respawns more consistently.

Waterfowl Multiplayer Issues (Host Dependency & Duo Hunting)

I’ve noticed some frustrating behavior with flying waterfowl (ducks, geese, etc.) in multiplayer sessions that seems heavily tied to the host’s location.

Example from a recent session:

I was hosting a multiplayer game while helping a friend who just started and needed money.

When I moved far away to hunt elsewhere, no waterfowl were landing for him at all.

When I moved back and set up in a tripod about ~250m away, birds finally started landing for him.

This makes it feel like waterfowl spawns or landing behavior are strongly tied to the host, which causes a big problem:

👉 If the host wants to hunt something else across the map, their friend basically can’t effectively hunt waterfowl.

Duo Hunting Problem

Another issue is hunting waterfowl together.

If two players sit in the same blind, ducks and geese often refuse to land.

This happens even when using blinds designed for two players.

It can also happen when using separate blinds very close together.

This makes cooperative waterfowl hunting feel broken, since the game clearly intends for multiple hunters to use the same blind.

What I’d Like to See Improved

Waterfowl landing behavior should not depend so heavily on the host’s position.

Players should be able to hunt waterfowl together from the same blind.

Multiplayer waterfowl hunting should feel reliable and cooperative, not like only one person can actually hunt them at a time.

Right now it feels like the host can’t freely hunt elsewhere if a friend wants to hunt ducks or geese, which is pretty limiting for multiplayer sessions.
