A Change to Great One Foxes I Think Most Players Would Love

Considering how you have to kill both to get respawns, having female foxs be able to be great ones just makes sense.

Not sure if making this change is really feasible at this point, but this is how the great one fox should've been from the beginning imo.

Similarly to players that have a common fur GO Moose or old legacy rack diamonds of species that now have tru racks, I doubt players who already have male GO fox's with the furs I'm suggesting to become exclusive to females would be mad as they would have a special trophy that no one else can get anymore.

This ask is a stretch, but the "Partners in Crime" multi mount should be changed to male/female to tie this change up with a bow.

To clarify, having the furs be sex exclusive is just a personal preference. I'd be totally fine if they just made GO female red fox possible at all.

I feel like the furs are fine as is if a g1 is gonna get a gender specific fur it should be something like gemsbok something that can be a dime as both male and female

And the multi mount i agree it shouldn't be gender specific but thats an issue with most multi mounts in game

I would also want multimounts just be made non gender specific as well! That would be ideal. Also, red fox female diamonds should be possible imo.

Surprisingly not but regardless I feel like the furs currently are fine the only change id personally made is make cherry less bright and more dull like in the concept art

If they are gonna make gender specific furs they could always give red fox more rares

Im glad you mentioned the cherry blossom. I think another reason I had the idea to make them specific is to lessen the sting of spawning the cherry blossom. My mind says it wouldn't be as bad if it was a girl lol

Why? Female Foxes can get the max weight estimate in this game and the GO is just a fur color. You could make them slightly more rare than the males even. Just give us some hope to make the female kills feel like progress rather than an obstacle.

I understand that, but females being able to have the really rare fur makes sense. Pretty sure birds are the only animals with sex based coloration. I understand wanting to keep Bear and deer GO's male only because of the antler and weight differences, but the Fox makes sense.

Nah it’s not just birds, housecats are known for calico fur being female linked, while you can get a male with those colors it’s very rare and they end up with 3 chromosomes instead of 2 (XXY). And in Syrian hamsters tortoiseshells are always female.

Was just pointing out irl versions of mammals that have sex linked colors but if you want game examples there’s plenty as well, black brown springbok, crowned wildebeest, dark, chocolate, white, and red spotted fallow deer, light brown and grey red deer, etc.

I think we should also remind ourselves these fabled furs aren't real, so me trying to make a scientific argument doesnt really apply anyway.

As said above by others I’d rather just not have to shoot both foxes in a pair (same with having to kill a whole flock to get respawns), since it’d benefit a bunch of animals, not just red fox, but I also wouldn’t mind something like this where the GO is separated by sex. It is a cool idea! It’d have its cons and pros (it’d make it so if you want both and want to do HM, your HM is going to be very intense but if you don’t want both, you can easily just focus on one or the other with less chances to get furs you don’t want!) but since it’d be limited to only a few species I think it’d still be fun.
