I think that if we are to justify the Beast of Gévaudan, we need to add a species of wolf, so we might as well add Canis lupus italicus (Appennine Wolf). Even if the beast that killed hundreds of children and women over a three-year period between 1764 and 1767 was a grey wolf (Canis lupus lupus), which ended up demonising wolves among Catholics and accelerating their extinction, especially in the region (now Languedoc) where the beast carried out its killings. the last Canis lupus lupus was killed in 1934, and the Canis lupus italicus returned in 1992 via the Italian Alps.

Looks like brown bears should be a very rare spawn/low population for this map if they’re to be included.

I typically don’t like animals that can’t legally be hunted but I feel that flamingos would work well on the southern portion
