Species request: Greater Kudu

Greater kudus have a narrow body with long legs, and their coats can range from brown/bluish grey to reddish brown. They possess between 4 and 12 vertical white stripes along their torso. The head tends to be darker in colour than the rest of the body, and exhibits a small white chevron which runs between the eyes.

Greater kudu bulls tend to be much larger than the cows, and vocalize much more, utilizing low grunts, clucks, humming, and gasping.The bulls also have beards running along their throats, and large horns with two and a half twists

A member of the antelope family, they are found through most of Southern Africa, and are considered one of the most sought after of the family in terms of hunting.

It would be fantastic to see these either added to Vurhonga, or as a future addition for a new map!

Greater Kudu on the outskirts of Vurhonga and in the western plateau would be an amazing backfill

I'd just fully replace the lesser kudu with this. The model for the lesser kudu is uglier than the inside of a hot dog and most people know it ain't geographically accurate so I'm sure a lot of people would happily trade it for a new greater kudu

I still believe Impala would be a better replacement for Lesser Kudu on the basis of both being Class 4 Species while Greater Kudu would either be a Class 6 or 7, but I am all for having Greater Kudu and Impala on Vurhonga

Agree completely. Lesser kudu shouldn’t be on Vurhonga, makes no sense with their native range, Impala should take their slot in class 4, but I would love to see Greater kudu on vurhonga as that is the species of kudu that makes sense for the location. Also wouldn’t hurt to have more than 10 species but I also wouldn’t hate ditching the wigeon to get the greater kudu on the map

For Eurasian Wigeon I would prefer it gets replaced by some type of native waterfowl like Cape Teal (also called Cape Wigeon apparently), African Black Duck or even Egyptian Goose, in general I would like: Impala, some native duck species AND Greater Kudu

That would be ideal, It just depends on if they still have to cut out of other species populations as in that instance I think I’d rather the ducks and geese be absent as it can cause issues with missions and such, like the one on cuatro where you have to get a gold hare in a tiny area

Tikamoon plains in way of the hunter did better with species and locations but could’ve done little more at least greater kudu is there. Vurhonga is boring sable antelope, burchell’s zebra, African birds would be nice maybe spotted hyenas too.

Oh yeah ideally I'd completely replace Vurhonga with an environment like Tikamoon so that it can be the map for springbok and gemsbok

I don’t really like Tikkamoon planes, it feels like a really western idea of what Africa looks like. Vurhonga despite being dated has got parts that look really authentic to how it is in real life. Tikamoon to me is based more in NW Botswana/Namibia

Yeah it’s very Limpopo, but the open savannah bits are not found very much South Africa

At least not with the game found on VH

I agree too barren and like others said about the lesser kudu in Southern Africa doesn’t make sense to be there

You could also rework Vurhonga to be specifically a small game map

I will disagree with this, Vurhonga seems like a Plains Game reserve with Lion and Buffalo, it should at least keep that, especially when Africa is a big enough continent to have 2 or 3 small game focused reserves alongside a good number of big game focused reserves

Tikamoon Plains is based on Western / Central South Africa
Think of the Bloemfontein area and the Kalahari part of South Africs
