As it stands, Grant's Caribou, Woodland Caribou, and Mountain Reindeer all have incorrect weight ranges for both sexes. So, in the spirit of Christmas (which is rapidly approaching) I am going to suggest corrections to their weight ranges.

To keep things short, I am simply going to list each species with their current weight ranges for male and female followed by the proposed updated weight range based on the resources I found. These new weights would better represent not only average caribou/reindeer but also have their minimums equate to younger individuals while maximums would reflect older individuals in their physical prime/unusually large specimens. MOUNTAIN REINDEER:

CURRENT WEIGHTS:

  • Male: 159kg to 182kg
  • Female: 80 to 120kg

NEW WEIGHTS:

  • Male: 90kg to 180kg
  • Female: 60kg to 118kg

GRANT'S CARIBOU:

  • Male: 150kg to 190kg
  • Female: 75kg to 125kg

NEW WEIGHTS:

  • Male: 100kg to 200kg
  • Female: 85kg to 135kg

WOODLAND CARIBOU:

  • Male: 150kg to 190kg
  • Female: 75kg to 125kg

NEW WEIGHTS:

  • Male 160kg to 270kg
  • Female: 90kg to 150kg

Anyways, I also wanted to add that this proposal includes a remodel for mountain reindeer and an adjustment for all three species overall stature to reflect that mtn reindeer are the smallest while woodland caribou are the largest with barrenground caribou sitting firmly in the middle
