being frank here... i am down to doing a point to point grid search with dots drawn every 100yrd on my map and its not looking so rosy over here... sorry my hope has mostly died atm

IM AFRAID TO SAY LIKE . I genuinely feel that it may not be on people’s maps at any given time once their “spawn” is triggered maybe it has to be re triggered maybe it will only spawn once every 100 sessions who knows but given the size of the animal and how relentlessly people have searched there is some trickery going on

I don't. Could've sworn I heard it earlier today...but could barely hear it(which it's been reported you can barely hear it past 100m). So I checked a 250m radius around where I thought I heard the bagpipes, and then used binos out to 400m. Also checked all tracks around the area. Nothing.

I'm starting to wonder if it does despawn...there's no way it shouldn't be on my map at this point. I'm at 168 hours searched. All missions done. Grid searched the map twice. Have over 1000 zones on my map. Seriously if it despawns...they MUST change that. It's hard enough. They have to give us some new info soon. We've all worked hard to figure everything else out about it.

It looks like it only actually deletes your data once you press “start game” . It is not deleted once you press “OK” to confirm you wish to proceed

Like they pop up and say something like lots of weird haggis sightings on one part of your map. Or on other maps it could be like giant elk spotted in an area and that would be a Diamond sighting.

Reason I say this is way back when the game started I found footprints but thought they were bugged. It was in the 1St few hours I plwyed. Before the haggis was a thing. I have scoured all over at bout the same time, but never found them again.

Honestly … it’s probably just . It spawns in at some point . It has its set zones , and it’s up to you to stumble across it

Maybe night hunting is the answer because I see a lot of people think that he isn’t around at night , but if all he does is travel and feed , you should totally be able to find him at night too , and people may be missing some really easy zones to stumble across whereas maybe in the day their haggis goes and . Sits halfway down a cliff in the most remote place possible

My current theory: haggis has a small chance of spawning every after specific period of time (for example: 0,2% to spawn every in-game hour) or something just like this. Entering his territory only starts this totally-RNG based mechanism. (That could explain why some people found it so fast and some can't find it after over 150H, just great/terrible RNG)

And ofc, % of spawn chance would be something impossible to guess just like time period (if it's related to time, not distance traveled or something completely else)

He's definitely around at night. It was mentioned by someone who studied him that he moves up to higher elevation at night, and lower in the grassy areas during the day.

I'm thinking either it despawns every time you close the game maybe, or it hops around to the different ranges(yellow circles on my map) and until you lock it into one of those spots by finding it's zone it does that. I don't know, I just can't figure out why I haven't found it after all this time. That's all even if it's spawned in for me at all.

I think one thing I’d really like to know is if it is rendered in like normal animals , aka would I be able to see it and potentially spot it from 300m without having found any zones or interacted with it in anyway

I know Ive seen Mel’s videos where someone is watching from a distance but maybe there’s some silly parameter that it becomes permanently properly rendered once it’s been spotted once or interacted with but otherwise it’s more like a ghost

I think we’ve located a few common areas where odd sounds have happened for multiple people, but there doesn’t seem to be any correlation at all to any meaning of it.

Nope. The legendaries in Angler are on a weekly rotation and show up at a certain time, and it announces in game when they're active. I know this because me and a small group still search them every week so PhantomShark can post them for the community. 😄

There's a few different ones. One is definitely a bug from the missions of a nest being raided. The other sounds like a cache opening or a shotgun being racked. Those happen pretty much every time in a few certain areas. We've located a few.

I kind of think they're leftover from Scotland being built on top of a previous map, but that's just a guess.

A lot less "much" than some of the theories lol. Wouldn't take much to do that really. Many animals in the game have home ranges. So if it just despawned every time you left the game until you got it's zone or something and hopped to a random home range each time, it could easily explain why it's been so hard for some, and easy for the lucky ones who stumbled across it. You'd literally have to get lucky af, or search the entire north of your map every single time you load in.

I setup all 16 tents on all the spots they've been found so far, and am just hunting other animals, picking up all tracks and zones. Checking all calls. Figure it's the best bet at this point.

I only redid the missions to get the dialogues and have a look around for potential clues! Didn’t really find anything

I would NOT recommend new gaming for the haggis there is no evidence it actually helping , it’s just been observed that newer players / people early into their Scotland map/ people who aren’t actively looking hard are finding em

It’s also a way you’d package up your save data to send it in to the support team , copying and zipping up the folder within “COTW” incase anything went groovy with your game that they’d ask to look at

From what's been reported the same thing. Continue eating>traveling>eating>traveling. It's been said they move into higher elevations though at night, but can not 100% confirm. Could've been a hint from Vivi's original post though with it under the moon on a mountain at night.

Yep, I basically did what he did in that pic, I just didn't use tripods. I put 1 tent at each hotspot location where they'd been found that wasn't close to an outpost.

Only diamonds I had on my map were my Wild Boar I was stacking whilst doing my GO grind no other species on my map so far before finding mine.

I've checked every area, but none have really been found in the forest, only at the edges of them. I check them anyway just in case though.

yea i was gonna say that if it can spawn anywhere above the south lakes its safe to assume that one could be found in those areas

dont know if this is relevant but i know they emphasized time being important and i did notice that the analog clocks in the outpost caisteal an eilein are all stuck on 4:55

Not all of them. I actually made a post about this a while back. The one in the kitchen goes with the in game time and works. There's a bunch around the map that work, and they're all in regions the haggis have been found. Didn't find any that worked at any of the outposts in the south.

The castle has the one working clock in the kitchen though, however the Mission #2(Haggis mission) does go into the castle. I think there's some tie-in...at least clues somehow. I just could never piece together what it meant.
