Constant Crash

I can launch the game no problem, but the second it goes to the main menu, and i try to do anthing (click) it closes the game, I can run the game no problem on another pc, i have used GPT to help with all the things (verify, driver updates, file deletion, cloud save turned off, reinstalling) nothing seems to work.

I have a brand new gaming laptop MSI Stealth A16 with a 5080 GPU, dont think its anything to do with the laptop itself... is there anything i can do?? I just spent 70$ on dlc today to not be able to play 🙁

And ive also tried turning all DLC off with that also not working

@deft haven I am not home right now but is there any way to get some form a crash report or something? I ended up giving up and playing on my other PC last night because it was so irritating.... I did every fix that chatGPT suggested and still nothing worked

That sounds like it might be an issue with Graphics Selection. That Laptop has an iGPU and a dedicated GPU, if the game launches running on the iGPU, it might crash in that fashion.

Oh I'll definitely try that when I get home, it is the first time I've tried launching cotw on the new laptop !

Only problem is last night I 100% already changed from balanced mode to descrete mode on my MSI center ... Which forces Nvidia GPU....

What I’ve already tried (COTW crashes when clicking anything in menu):

Reinstalled game (internal SSD)

Disabled ALL DLC

Deleted save files + configs

Cleared shadercache

Verified game files

Ran game in admin mode

Installed correct AMD drivers (MSI) + Factory Reset

Forced NVIDIA GPU / Discrete Mode

No launch options

Deleted Avalanche Studios folder

Clean reinstall didn’t help

Current symptom:

Game loads menu → clicking ANYTHING causes instant crash, no error.

Most likely cause now:

DirectX runtime corruption in Windows.

Remaining fixes:

1. Run DISM + SFC to repair Windows graphics files

2. Reinstall Visual C++ runtimes

3. Reset DirectX shader cache

4. As last resort: Windows repair install

Any further ideas?

If none of the previously known workarounds in the crash troubleshooting page are helpful, the only other thing I can suggest is to file a support ticket, (here: https://support.thehunter.com/hc/en-us/requests/new) and make sure that you include your crash files for analysis. It's never been a crash though like the game literally just closes I don't get crash report pop up or anything, is that normal?
