In my opinion, the story missions of maps have been kinda slacked out. To me, a map isnt just good because of the quality of the terrain, animals, etc.. but also if the quality of the story missions on the map.

i would love to see the badens back in story missions, i loved how in the story missions in rancho del arroyo, the previous history of the badens were mentioned. It gave them a "connection" to each map, where they were mentioned, so that there was a history of their doings.

In yukon, for example, there a baden was attacked by a bear, had to be flown out in a chopper, you were told a story of a devastating forest fire
basically the whole story was adventorous, and exciting.

But when you compare it to this map, for example, or askiy ridge, the missions here (and on askiy) are significantly lower in quality in my opinion. On this new map (the scotland map), the most exciting story mission was finding a missing child, but even that, was abruptly over, without any excitment.
The map itself is amazing, but story missions play a great deal, atleast from my perspective.

The older maps, had more exciting and longer missions. In medived taiga, you found out about someone (the badens) who died of eating poisonous meat, you came to face a super rare bear in a cave, while you drove across the cold landscape, shooting reindeer and taking photos of a lynx. The missions were amazing. In vurhonga, you investigated the poachers doings, you became the takeover of the warden, etc...
Same goes for yukon, it had amazing missions, you investigated how the reserve was being damaged, you found out about a horrible forest fire, you investigated the badens, and helped the warden locate them to save them from a bear.

In cuatro, you literally had to face against multiple wolves, you investigated their doings, how they killed animals, etc..
In te awaroa, you got the chance to shoot a rare moose, the last one on the reserve, you investigated how the things had gone on the reserve since the warden couldnt take care of the reserve for the moment, because something had happened to her (she broke her arm or something, i dont remember)

even rancho was great, you found out the badens had unlawfully shot deer from trucks, you tracked down a great backstory and recieved an old gun at the end.

same goes for new england

emerland coast was fun
sunderpatan was also quite fun

my point is basically, i think the story missions have dropped in quality over the last year or so, and i, as well as many others, love the excitment of a fun storyline behind a map, and the backstory of the badens behind the maps
I think EW have recently been not giving their best shots at the missions, probably because they try to make the map itself better quality. And the map itself is amazing, no doubt about that. But to me, and to many others, the map isnt the same without the great backstory behind the current reserve.

If EW would pay more attention to the story missions of the map, and make them more fun, and exciting in the future maps, that would be awesome.
In my opinion, the map with the best story missions, was Medived Taiga.
I understand that the regional reign of the map affects the story missions, but, i am sure EW could make awesome story lines out of locations of future maps.

On the plus side, the missions on Scotland actually involve hunting and not just picking up rubbish, delivering items, etc.

Unfortunately, I believe most players do not even bother with the missions, which is a pity. I love them!

Oh, I was thinking of the side missions as well. Lots of hunting there! And not just "shoot a Gold of every species" either

I think I wanted a chiller tone that explored some interesting subjects to me, rather than depending on danger or death

Theres not any less effort, just a different approach haha

Yea, I mean like, it isn’t necessary to have missions that include danger or death, although it makes it much more interesting, it is possible to have great story missions that for example involve shooting a very rare animal

Te awaroa has story missions that doesn’t involve any danger or death, and it is pretty nice, the story missions

But again, on cuatro colinas, you have to fight multiple wolves in the main stoy mission , which makes it more fun

We have been purposefully not spawning in mission animals because it causes too many issues

We would like to in the future but for the time being we can’t sadly

It’s on our list to fix but I wouldn’t expect it soon
