Hello, long time player here (since around 2017 or so). Since the time backpacks were introduced (and possibly even before), I've experienced a number of bugs that seem, for some reason or another, to continue to persist between patches, skill and perk resets, and even save files, or continue to reappear, even after recent updates.
Namely, these are issues affecting:
- how the soft feet perk works (I get no reduction in noise when moving through foliage)
- aim wobble (my aim is still as severe as with perks being disabled or inactive)
- backpacks' effect on visibility and noise (even just recently spooking animals at 250+ meters while walking. I understand this was supposed to have been changed in a recent patch affecting backpacks, but for some reason, this hasn't affected my game at all, and I am still stuck with pre-patch backpack mechanics).
I've tried a number of things to try and fix these problems--from resetting skills and perks, verifying game files, even uninstalling/reinstalling and starting fresh saves several times over the years, but all of these have done nothing to fix these issues permanently, as they either continue to persist even between save files or eventually reappear during gameplay or after patches.
I must sadly admit that I am at my wits end, and do not know what else to do to fix this, or if it can even be fixed on my end. If someone could please take a look at this, I am more than willing to try any solutions on my end, and provide save files or other files that will help diagnose any potential problems that I might be experiencing.
Important note: I unfortunately cannot provide recorded footage, as my rig is not compatible with a large number of recording software (e.g. NVidia Ansel), nor strong enough to handle the game plus a recording software running at the same time.
