Just for me, would it be okay if they didn't release any new maps for a whole year, but reworked some old ones?
There are many that could be reworked but these are my ideas:
-HIRSCHFELDEN: The cultivated fields and wooded areas are fine, but if they expanded the coniferous area and added more mountainous areas like the one in the top left corner, they could give the map more variety.
BACKFILLING:
Woodcock
Chamois
European mouflon ⭐
European badger
-CUATRO COLINAS: The mountainous areas where the various ibex live don't even remotely represent their true habitats, and they're too low, hilly, and wooded. More true mountain hunting areas would be needed, better diversifying the four mountains: one more Mediterranean (SE Ibex), one more alpine (Gredos Ibex), one more "desert" (Ronda Ibex), and one more wooded (Beceite Ibex).
BACKFILLING:
Red-legged Partridge ⭐
Red Fox
Fallow deer
Iberian Lynx ⭐
Common Quail ⭐
-YUKON VALLEY: The map itself isn't bad, but they could add a more mountainous area here too, which would increase the possibility of new species.
BACKFILLING
American Mink
Willow Ptarmigan
Wolverine ⭐
Dall Sheep ⭐
Sitka blacktail ⭐
Mountain goat

Rather would change woodcock on hirsch for capercallie or Black grouse otherwise i agree
Ngl fallow deer could get backfilled to cuatro too
It's true, I completely forgot about them
Im Not sure about about stone sheep on Yukon, they aren't really present in Alaska. If mountains get expanded on Hirsch I would love alpine ibex.
good point, maybe add woodcock and one of those two
i was searching on some website and the official yukon one say there is some. for the ibex in hirshfelden i disagree because i think they need a specific and true alpine map like a other map i make (TRIHORN ALPS RESERVE, i dont know how to tag it lol)
The issue is the Yukon is in Canada, Yukon valley which is named after the Yukon river that flows thru both Canada and Alaska, the map however is in central Alaska where there are no stone sheep
oh i didnt know that, thanks for the correction, i will edit the post rn
Mule Deer wouldn’t really work on Yukon, seeing as the only animals that could be considered “Mule Deer” in Alaska are Sitka Blacktail Deer. I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing Sitka Deer on Yukon though.
theyre too scared to do anything to cuatro because they know itll be the best map if they fix ibex and backfill…
A lot of the older maps really need some love, especially the base game ones
Pine marten should definitely be on Yukon too, trapping them there is literally some people's best source of income
The issue is that the American Marten in Alaska are different than the Pine Martens in Europe.
Left: Eurasian Pine Marten
Right: American Marten
Not too hard though
Not too big a difference there
Completely different species though, plus the neck patch and head shape are way different. American Martens are also generally smaller at only around 1.5 kg. Not saying they shouldn’t be on Yukon, but you couldn’t just backfill Eurasian Martens in good faith.
There's pretty much all of Vurhonga that shows they'll put animals anywhere.
My thoughts are to get something there and fix it later rather than leave it with literally 2 small game animals and nothing interesting in 40%of the map
And I am in the mind set that the mistakes made with Vurhonga should not be repeated
Vurhonga doesnt suffer a complete lack of smaller game, it at least has the hares and springboks to fill in areas.
At least having an animal in a niche is better than totally lacking anything in between. Yukon has nothing between class 2 and class 5
A second Canadian Reserve set in the Arctic could handily solve those problems, especially if its comes with Dall's Sheep (C4), Canada Lynx (C2) and Wolverine (C2 or 3)
I doubt they'll do another Canadian map for at least a year, possibly two
I am aware, heck I would hope the Canadian Arctic Reserve a lot of people were hoping for isn't rushed, its part of the reason I want a whole year just for Africa
My thing for Africa is one new map to focus mostly on plains game and leopard, then a second map for the big five or dangerous 7
Seems we both think alike on a Year of Africa
Yeah, much as I love the big five, when I think of safari hunts im thinking of impala and sable and nyala
i will change it rn
cuatro rn is a good map but if they rework it, rework the ibex, wolves and muflon it could be on of the best map in the game
There’s also Layton Lakes let’s not forget
ofc but i'm from europe so i dont know much about american landscape
I was burning around the mountain tops on Ernsdorf on the ATV yesterday. It really wouldn’t be much of a challenge making more of Hirschfelden’s eastern mountains accessible.
They would still require a fair bit of work however which would probably dissuade EW. They would need to place props across all the mountainous areas as they are completely bare, they aren’t really supposed to be accessible so they weren’t afforded a lot of detail.
They would also need create a new height map and LOD vegetation for the inaccessible, off-map mountains beyond the first range, as you can see where the map completely drops off from here.
Not a huge amount of work really, but enough that I can’t see the devs being able to justify the effort with so little incentive.
There is nothing I would love more than to see chamois and mouflon on Hirschfelden though. The eastern mountains would be perfect for chamois but I would be content if we didn’t see a map extension and simply had chamois added to Rotwald and Rinderland, and mouflon to Rinderland and Königsberg.
Those a near the hirsch map barrierer. And its big enough to house on or two groups of chamois
Yukon was rather disappointing for me as I expected more mountainous areas for dall sheep, which were a terrible omission IMO. I haven’t spent much time on Yukon however so I’m unsure how much of the non-accessible areas of the map are reworkable.
I think I’m pretty confident saying that, as it is, Cuatro Colinas isn’t really workable though. The way the map was designed to house all four Iberian ibex variants doesn’t leave much room for the devs to work with. I agree with the sentiment that an ibex focussed map should have been incredibly mountainous, though I can’t see how EW could do that with CC without redesigning the entire map from scratch.
The homeranges i would give too chamois (left) and mouflon (right)
Completely agree, though I feel this area isn’t quite expansive enough to make hunting there that interesting and even the images you shared show the clear lack of detail with little to no rocks or prop placement.
Theres like green shrubs where it is brown in the picture, but they only render in when you're near them
Oh also, can we PLEASE get a rework of the wisent?
Reworked European bison would be great, though I can’t see it happening unless we got yet another European map to justify the costs, as seems to be the pattern with previous animal remasters. Maybe Romania or Bulgaria?
What I really would love to see above all else however is a large scale backfill of all previous reserves with all the appropriate existing species we have got over the past few years. Some of the older maps would still really benefit from a greater roster of species.
