Red Deer Model s !

As Scotland map will be released soon - and previews of it are online
I was not too happy with this somewhat "cartoonish" look of the new red deer model - they look so very different from the originals we have here in the forests, "red deer is strong, elegant, light and fast and easily jumping over high obstacles" as it is described, and very true, at least for the wild ones (compared to these sweetish faces an somewhat puffy bodies) - but ! - look here and see the pictures on english and german wikipedia to compare:

Intrestingly, Great Britain red deer is cross bred with Sika and Asiatic species (german wiki)
And compare the Scottish subspecies with the models! (english wiki)
They resemble very much and seem to be a good capture of the originals.

Please will you keep both models?
After all it was much work to create both - why not keep both models?
Please do not erase the Hischfelden subspecies!

p.s.: if you decide to "erase the middle European subspecies", will the already existing trophies also look like the scottish ones afterwards?

All the red deer in game are the same subspecies (despite the fact that in real life they would all be different subspecies. Therefore all the models for all the red deer will be the same.

I think so because the Red Deer has the Great One, and G1 is usually given to species without subspecies.

I liked the previous remodel better. the different subspecies of red deer do vary in appearance a bit ie size and mane or not

Would it be impossible to add G1s to all maps with red deer, regardless of the regional red deer model? – I thought these G1 models were special models anyway? 🤔

The point is that there are not different red deer models for different regions in game. Every red deer is considered the same species/subspecies in the game, despite their regional differences in real life.

I think I do understand what you mean. It would be like making a copy of the existing red deer, labeling it as a "different animal", leaving everything the same (behaviour, difficulty, ...) except the looks. This would be additional work to do. I am not sure if it is this easily done of course.

if the programmers can make a tahr then there's no reason they can't make a spanish red deer look differently compared to a South American one. especially since they have remodeled red deer twice now

Personally, I dislike the antlers of levels ‘very hard’ (some), mythic, and legendary. They are oversized.

Honestly, I also like the current Red Deer model, but the new one seems less well-defined in silhouette compared to the realistic red deer. The Roe Deer is without a doubt the best remastered model.

Yes, they seem to be farm bred somehow. Moreover they lack the muscles it would need to carry these antlers. In wild, without help of humans the would have many incidents by getting entangled with the antlers and being unable to free themselves in too many cases. They would not pass on their genes.

current red deer model is terrible. if it's not broke don't fix it. took forever to remodel them to look good.
