#Make raccoons class 1 again

It’s stupid that we need rifles such as the 243 to hunt raccoons ethically and it’s infuriating given how small they are to get vital shots

Not to mention ethical calibers IRL are 22lrs

I’ve gotten raccoons to die from a foot shot Ingame with a 22lr it’s ridiculous either make it so raccoons don’t need vital shots or make them class 1 again and make them as durable as the turkeys are where a shot will kill them but you don’t need vitals

When Mississippi came out they were class 1 but changed to class 2 which made hunting them much more annoying imo

As long as you don’t have hit a vital or they fix the penetration issues with shotguns and class 1 ammo I’m all for this, the vitals are really what the issue was with the initial class 1 raccoons since most class 1 guns had difficulty reaching them. Although it’d be nice if we had some guns change to cover class 1 if they want to stick to the vital system a 1-3 class gun would be welcome imo

C:1 should be birds only while small game is Class 2, Medium small Game C:3 etc. Imho. However, every caliber's ammo classes should get adjusted where Tier 1 ammo covers the Lowest to Mid Rated GAME & Tier 2 covers the Mid-Highest Rated GAME authentically over both options covering the same class. In this case 22LR is strictly C:1 with both ammo options. It should be (C:1/C:1-2). This should apply to every caliber. The Hudzik has & is the best ex. with Ball: 3-7 & Minie: 4-8.

Rabbits shouldn’t be class 2

We can agree to disagree in that respect since EW's logic isn't sound when it comes to GAME classes & authentic caliber use & field applications. If you want to know I can share my GAME & Caliber reclass posts if you'd like to see what premise I'm basing my opinion on. If not that's plenty fair, but I still believe calibers need to expand as I mentioned earlier whether EW changes the Game Classes are not.

However the one thing I can agree with overall is C:1-3 should get revised in General. I also dont disagree that .22 should be ethical on coons as I personally use a .22cal PCP for them. Imho alot of C:2 rated calibers should be C:3+ 243, 30-30, 7.62x39 for ex. shouldn't be rated for coons & other species that are in C:2.

Much agree with this post. Also, agree with fuzzininja- a solid class 1-3 rifle would be very welcome at this point.

From doing some research about them (admittedly not very versed in rifles) it seems like they’re overall not deemed ethical (and it seems, many places it is illegal) in many areas to shoot things like hogs, roe deer, etc. due to the small caliber. I’m not sure what other options are out there, but I think a really solid class 1-3 rifle in game should be modeled after a rifle that comfortably covers those ranges irl too.

you can hunt coyotes and foxes with it just fine. the thing about hogs is depends on if you mean javelina and "small" hogs or the giant megahogs memes are made of. for roe deer idk either so jury's out on that one. it's a great varmit rifle which is typically the stuff you find in 1-3.

I was thinking .25-06 but idk if that overkill.

there's not a lot of overlap between small centerfire or rimfire varmit cartridges and carbine and stronger full size rifle cartridges besides maybe .30 Super Carry and some other oddball wildcats.
