You mean the zones or the feeders?
The zones have been here since probably the beginning of the game
The feeders are very situational and a method people use irl to hunt
Feeders and ik they use them irl but idk if u can tell but this isn't irl
And the part about cotw i personality love is exploring the map and finding where animals are and if you can just make them go wherever you want seems pretty boring tbh
If you don't like it, then don't buy the DLC and keep playing the way you always like.
In any case, all those animals that go to the feeders also go to the lakes in the same numbers; nothing has changed, only the place where they go.
Its a video game sure, but theres still a speck of realism into the game, we have tripods and treestands things people also use in hunting
As rexio said too if you simply dont like the dlc just dont buy it play the way you like EW aint forcing you to do it
There’s literally nothing stopping you from doing that…other people can hunt the way they want to, and so can you.
thats how CotW's meta play style has always been but with need zones. Idk how things are with the feed plots, I didn't buy the DLC because I don't like that play style
you play the game how you want? don’t buy the feeder dlc? why would they remove them just because you don’t like to use them? that makes no sense…
But imo the whole "grinding" part of it makes the trophys normal people get less cool cause the grinders get them so easy
-
It really doesn’t make trophies any less cool, literally any trophy is cool. Even something as simply as a diamond Whitetail is cool.
-
Grinders don’t get trophies “easy”, they get them by killing a ton of animals. If you don’t have a ton of time to pour into killing animals then you won’t get a ton of trophies by grinding.
In any case, feeders don't work magic; they only attract animals that pass nearby (within the render range). They don't increase the number of animals in the area. Placing them in the best locations requires considerable knowledge of your own map, knowing where there are the largest herds, and, if you want to create a multi-species feeder, you need to know the Habitat Zones and feeding times of each species on the map to place the feeder in a shared area with constant movement; it's no easy task.
In a certain sense, it can be both useful and useless.
It also has its drawbacks...
It could even leave a portion of the map empty at certain times of day, or there will be areas where only two or three animals will come, or only females will come, or so many animals will arrive that those that arrived first will leave instantly due to the overload of the area.
My happy days at cotw are first 1000 hours. Because I didn't know about need zones and about drinking times. I only roaming around.
