Welcome to Arizona! In this small mountain park, found to the southeast of Tucson, you will find one of the most lucrative bird hunting paradise in North America. On top of the birds, you have some small mammals as well. The reserve is split into 2 separate habitats: Chihuahuan Desert and Sky Islands

(This map is 32 sq km in size, or half the size of a normal map)

Indeed!! I love coatis. That’s all I’d hunt for the first month if they were added. Badgers too for sure 🥹🎉

If anyone’s has any other species that they would like to see on this map, please let me know. Keep in mind that this map is based on Southeastern Arizona, particularly the area around the Chiricahua Mountains.

Arizona on the states with stragglers

# small knot Actually Jaguar would be cool

The only issue I could see with Jaguars is that it would have to be only 1-2 on the map at a time. Theres such a small amount of them in AZ (at the current moment there’s only 1 known in the state, that being Cochise, a young male). It would be the same issue with Ocelots. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see both of these species in game, but idk about on an AZ reserve.

The best bet for Jaguar is a map set in a part of South America that not only allows sport-hunting to a similar degree that Argentina allows but also has a population of Jaguar (Jaguars are protected across their range irl but so are Bengal Tigers) and the only ones I know of are Suriname and Guyana (which allow people to hunt Brazilian Tapir) and Peru (It also has its own unique subspecies of white-tailed deer)

# small knot Okay but a single one at the bottom of the map would be fire

Just having a single male wandering around could be cool, and seeing as they added Tigers and Snow Leopards to the game it wouldn’t be a stretch, but they would have to make it so the Jaguar has no drink zones, and is insanely elusive, much like a Snow Leopard is. Just make it SUPER difficult to find.

# mental remnant The one way I could see Jaguar work for a map like this is the way Te Awaroa has...

I could see that, although I’d personally prefer the single one on the map that you can run across. It would make it a lot more special to come across than it being a mission. I may put it down as a “Possible/Controversial Species” alongside Ocelots and Jaguarundis (despite Jaguarundis not being known from the state at all in the last 50 or so years), but thy would all have to have insanely small populations in order for it to not feel weird having them on the map.

Wow I had no idea about that. I would probably have preferred for them to not have been included but I do agree with the Roe and Sika Deer

Jaguarundi, Ocelot, and Jaguar have all been added under “Possible/Controversial species”, with small populations map wide.

I did this for my own map concept but if american badgers come id love to see a mtm between coyotes and american badger to represent an actual recorded alliance they make irl
