Please add the two missing lynx species—Canada Lynx and Iberian Lynx—and give the existing Eurasian Lynx and Bobcat a remodel/rework. Both new species already have perfect homes on existing reserves, making this a great backfilling opportunity (they could also debut on future maps and be backfilled later). Completing the lynx group improves regional authenticity and small-predator gameplay.
Backfilling

  • Canada Lynx → Askiy Ridge Hunting Preserve (Alberta, Canada) and Yukon Valley Nature Reserve (Alaska)
  • Iberian Lynx → Cuatro Colinas Game Reserve (Spain)
  • If a future NA/Iberian map appears first, introduce them there and then backfill to the reserves above
    Overhaul requests
    1. Remodel/rework for Eurasian Lynx and Bobcat: Once Canada Lynx and Iberian Lynx ship with new models, bring those upgrades to the two existing species for parity(https://discord.com/channels/393040947006406657/1323703520851136624)
    2. Behavior: As small predators, lynx shouldn’t trigger a mass “fleeing” reaction in large herbivores/bears (https://discord.com/channels/393040947006406657/1361848565718188162)
    3. Bobcat distribution: Backfill Bobcat into Mississippi Acres Preserve (https://discord.com/channels/393040947006406657/1382150853632327712)
    4. Mexican Bobcat: Differentiate the Mexican Bobcat (Lynx rufus escuinapae) in Rancho del Arroyo from the New England Mountains bobcat—similar to how Rocky Mountain vs Desert bighorn sheep were handled
    5. Iberian Lynx density/difficulty: Since it’s endangered, tune it like the Snow Leopard: Very low density and elusive

Thanks for considering this

Canada Lynx (Lynx canadensis)
A northern lynx specialized for snowy boreal forests. Notable for long legs, very large snow-adapted paws, dense winter coat, pronounced ear tufts and cheek ruffs, and a short black-tipped tail. Native across Canada and parts of the northern USA.

#

Iberian Lynx (Lynx pardinus)
A smaller, heavily spotted lynx endemic to the Iberian Peninsula. Recognizable by its bold pelt pattern, large facial “beard,” and short tail with a black tip. Occupies Mediterranean scrub and dehesa mosaics where rabbits are abundant.

I like the idea a lot, and if it means Cuatro can get a big backfill I'm all for it. It has always been my favorite map and i got my first non-story diamond on it, but it is so empty. This would help make the map more complete.

In Medved Taiga and Revolunti Coast, there’s overpopulation, and I see it everywhere.

# weak sable I hear you. I’m not fixed on Snow Leopard levels. I mainly suggested keeping it ...

I think that a smaller population than normal (I believe the norm for most species is around 200 or something like that) is alright, but I feel that a population of 8-10 is kinda low for such a small cat, especially seeing as they could be found across the whole of the map. I think 50 or so cats across the map could work, as Lynx should be insanely elusive (seeing as I’ve spent much of my life in the woods and never seen anything more than a track of a Lynx, I know this for sure).

I prefer the low population of lynx.

In real life we have a lot of Lynx in sweden, but they are still pretty scarce and skittish, that's how lynx just are. That's why I think they need low populations.

Their populations need to be redistributed because of this 👇

The quote from Wikipedia: “It tends to be less common where the grey wolf is abundant, and wolves have been reported to attack and even eat lynx.

I really want the see the Iberian lynx added to the game they are a very beautiful species of cat, and of course I also want their primary food score the European rabbit added to cuatro colinas as well.

If any map could use a new species backfilled, it would be Yukon, which the Canadian lynx would be perfect for
