All animals have open eyes when they’re dead, which i know can happen, but mostly animals when killed irl have closed eyes. I won’t show real dead animals here idk if i can link but it’s easier for you to google i think if you want to see that. Either way i think would be a nice detail to have in the game, the pictures provided show the current state animal show when killed in-game:
#Can we get that animals mostly close their eyes when killed?

Idk, every animal I’ve ever hunted irl has had its eyes open even after they go down. Their eyes are usually cloudy but they’re open.
Most hunting videos i’ve seen the animals have their eyes closed, only rarely open, but that what you say could be added to, that their eyes are clouded. I’d like there to be some difference for the animal from it’s alive and dead state yk
Cloudy or less reflective would be best in Hunter safety they teach you open eyes and no breathing = dead and safe to approach “Notice whether the eyes are closed—the eyes of a dead animal are usually open. You can be certain that the animal is dead if the eye doesn’t blink when touched with a stick.” https://www.hunter-ed.com/national/studyGuide/Approaching-Downed-Game/201099_92938/
If they wanted to make it super realistic the eyes would start out dull (less reflective) and gradually cloud in the pupil over time, as the faster you get to the kill the less cloudy the eyes generally are
Though it might be best just to dull the reflection a bit the cloudy eyes might annoy folks who like to take trophy shots outside the harvest screen
This was the Kudu I hunted a few years back as it lay when I got to it. All the animals I've walked up on after hunting them had their eyes open.
I know some people though feel it's respectful to close their eyes or they close them for whatever other reason but unless they're fiddled with, in my experience they're open when the animal dies
I've seen how if the animal dies really quickly, the eye gets that cloudy blue hue surprisingly fast, there's just a slight delay between the fatal blow, death and the blue hue
