I know that’s seems like a lot of animals to add, but I believe that is would allow for maps to have a new freshness to them and allow for more species engagement.

There are no roe deer in new Zealand or populations of rme in sonora where rancho is based in
I looked it up there are roe deer in New Zealand and there are introduced elk species in Mexico.
When it comes to deer in New Zealand there are official sources listing all the deer species present in New Zealand and Roe Deer are not one of them
Since Lord of the Ghost Hyrax already covered two points (Awesome username btw), here are some other species that wouldn't work
- The Mountain Reindeer wouldn't work since they are not hunted in Finland, on the other hand the Forest Reindeer would work if they come with a small population (Yes the Reindeer in game have been referred to as Mountain Reindeer since Askiy Ridge dropped)
- Fallow Deer are not that widespread in Finland, though I do agree that Roe Deer would be a fantastic inclusion for Revontouli
- As far as the Elk for Rancho goes, I personally think the bison would be a better fit over them
- While Moose and White-tailed Deer are present in Colorado, they are also present on a lot of other maps and unless they plan to split the moose and white-tail into their respective subspecies, they are better off not being included (Dusky Grouse could be backfilled to SRP though)
- Medved Taiga is implied to be in the more northern parts of Siberia, meaning that snow leopard would not work as well (They could come on a map set in Mongolia though, it has a large population)
I found where roe deer are I. Southern alps of new zeal d don’t really know if that would work for the awaroa but I’d agree elk on rancho is a reach as thought it was another part of Mexico
And official source for what species of deer exist in New Zealand: https://www.doc.govt.nz/nature/pests-and-threats/animal-pests-and-threats/deer/. While Roe Deer wouldn't work since they don't occur there, the Rocky Mountain Elk would work on Te Awaroa and it is a subject that has been spoken about on this discord before
I would also like to see moose split into there three species of Canada Yukon and sharias so that why I put moose on srp. Also I don’t know why but for me elk on New Zealand just doesn’t feel right but I know they been introduced. I’d rather stick to the more European and Asian animals for New Zealand
Wapiti do have some history with Fiordland National Park since its the only place that has free ranging elk.
Yeah it’s a cool what they have for the elk there New Zealand truly has some great animals. Also I don’t know if you know but does the part of rancho have capacity for coues deer or is that a different area that would be needed for them?
Ty, and there was so much I just covered some i actually knew from my own research
Would rather change wild boar on Salz for sika deer and sika deer on hirsch for mouflon
Almost every moose map in this game could have its own distinct subspecies.
Layton Lakes - Shiras Moose
Medved - Kamchatka or some other Russian subspecies
Yukon - Alaskan/Yukon Moose
Revontuli - European/Eurasian Elk
New England Mountains - Eastern Moose
Askiy Ridge - Western Moose
Also Coyote needs to be on Yukon, and Askiy Ridge too! Coyotes are found All Over North America
I agree coyotes are definitely and underrated animal. Wouldn’t hurt to have them on any map in North America
