More Hunting Dogs

My idea is to release DLCs featuring dogs specialized in specific types of hunting, whether for birds, big game, vermin, etc.

• Here I present 2 DLCs: one DLC would focus on dogs for small game and bird hunting, featuring the elegant English Setter and the versatile Breton Spaniel.
• The other DLC would focus on dogs specialized in tracking and searching for small and large mammals, as well as their excellent scenting abilities, featuring the fierce Wirehaired Dachshund and the clever Podenco Andaluz.

As we all know, there are currently three tracking levels for dogs: small, medium, and large animals. Now, a fourth level would be added for birds.

This new level would only be available to the following dogs: English Setter, Brittany Spaniel, Labrador Retriever, and German Shorthaired Pointer.

There would also be changes to the Pointer skill: the Labrador Retriever would only be able to track small animals and birds, and the Bloodhound would not be able to track birds. If it had the Retriever skill, it would only be able to retrieve Class 1 mammals.

English Setter

• First skill: Track small animals.
• Second skill: Retrieves Class 1 animals.

Breton Spaniel

• First skill: Track small animals.
• Second skill: Retrieves Class 1 animals.

Wirehaired Dachshund

• First skill: Track medium and large animals.
• Second skill: Follow blood trails.

I think the next dog will be one whose function is missing in the three dogs from COTW.
What function are we missing? Chasing and holding? Or going into the burrow?

The fox still can’t use the burrow, the rabbits have it. We can use the Ferret to hunt them. I really like this idea; that way, we’ll have two ways to hunt rabbits (hunting and ferreting).

Yeah they are cool but adding fettets just for Euro rabbits is, lets say, not worth the effort ? Dont get me wrong i like the idea of ferrets but adding the burrow mechanic to a wider range animals and then add a dog that can be used to get those animals out of the burrow is more worth it in my opinion

I understand you. It is just a good idea of mine. The reason is this: In most cases, burrows are used when I am hunting.The Ferret will help me a lot.

Yeah they really arent around when you need them. There are two burrows in hirsch pretty close to the field and i wanted to take pictures of them when they are out and in the best case sitting on the field.

I met a person with two Chuandong Hounds (aka East Sichuan Hunting Dog) today. I had never seen one before, but they are amazingly beautiful. It would be very cool to have a Chinese breed in the game, even if "just" as a optional replacement for the Bloodhound.

for the sake of simplicity Dog skills and the dogs breed should be kept separate.

Just release DlC with dog breeds and let players decide what skills they will train them in ...
