#Shorter but More Consistent Need Zones

With the new feeder update, it got me thinking again about the idea of making zone times max 2 hours (except for things like ducks) but making them far more consistent with animals showing up and leaving on time. This would allow animals to be on the move for extended periods of time without impacting anything, since a grind rotation is usually done late into the zone time anyway.

I’ve already thought of this before hand to benefit both hunting while wandering around and grinding play styles but now it’d also tie in nicely with the new feeders, since you want to place it where animals are traveling!

That would make sense. Give the bears a two-hour feed time in the day between rest periods. You could even give animals more than one drink time if this is implemented.

In irl, the animales are not punctual and do not go to the same place every day.

With this they’d make it so animals who would arrive on time to the old times would still be walking around a bit more and you’d get the additional buffer for animals who are late to their drink times due to long travel. I still don’t really see a reason not to.

Edit: Plus sometimes animals just do come in late. I’ve definitely had animals who hated coming into their zones for no real reason.

This proposal doesn't make any sense. Irl animals don't wear watches. I like that little bit of uncertainty, whether the animals are already there or come a bit later. Please turn this hunting simulator not into an arcade shooting gallery.

No irl would find any species exactly at noon, or at 15:00 at the water etc. So... that's a "No" from my side. This game is made grinder-friendly enough

Makes sense if you’re not a realism above all player, which not everyone is. I won’t be discussing realism since it’s down to pure personal preference, though I’m sure I’ll get 5 more people talking about how IRL animals don’t have clocks in this thread lol

I will say some animals already arrive on time on the dot consistently, this would just unify it and it’s not that big of a change that changes COTW away from anything it isn’t already

You can already have shorter consistent animal spawns in the zones. Just target the middle of the drink/feed/rest time. No reason to change anything and to destroy the realism for everyone else

Fast travel is free in COTW!

I mean.…this suggestion was made with the common complaint from realism players about how the animals are a lot of the time stationary in mind and how animals being more reliably on the move for longer periods of time would also benefit the new feeder DLC, which I’m sure lots of realism players are going to enjoy using to try and get a more realistic draw for their animals then relying on zones, but sure. I’m trying to destroy the realism for everyone else 😂

flipping the story here for fun:

This is a hunting sim, why don’t you want to cut down on unrealistic need zones? Animals dont have zones in real life, just like they don’t have watches. You’re destroying people’s chance to run into animals more organically and let the game work even better with the far more realistic food baiters.

God this is so stupid 😂 was pretty funny to write tho
