#Rework Parque

I puma my pants
Yooo same
The map is old, so i don’t mind it staying that way so some graphic improvements can come to newer maps and rework the animals, but reworking old maps would be really much work i imagine
When people talk about hunting Perdiz in Argentina they are talking about the Spotted Nothura, not the Chukar
You are right though that Parque does need more exclusive species
I have seen various birds alongside the Pere David’s Deer be suggested
Parque has alot of room for species to be added mouflon or any type of feral sheep could be cool
California quail would be great in parque as well! Here’s my post about them: https://discord.com/channels/393040947006406657/1371644814717620265
Pére David’s Deer would be great, especially seeing as the only other place we could get them would be Texas or the UK. Give them to Argentina, and focus on other native species for those other maps.
I don’t like when animals have names of the person who discovered them, idk if this one is though
The Pere David's Deer are also known as the Milu
That sounds better, you get what i’m saying though like imagine if Sable Antilope were called Sir Anthony’s antilope for example, i would not like that at all
I mean I wouldn't mind we got the blue sheep being called a blue sheep instead of a bharal
Yeah but it isn’t called some dudes name of who discovered it, blue sheep works because it is a blue wild sheep
Pére David’s Deer are named after a French monk. Plus, they’re far more known as “Pere David’s Deer” than as “Milu” or “Elaphure”.
It’s not a Bharal situation where most people know them as both Bharal and Blue Sheep.
Yeah ok well i prefer animals having their own names yk, no matter how many people know it as
Well what about Gambel’s Quail? It doesn’t have any other name.
Give it a new one based on maybe how it calls sound like, a feature that makes it stick out, certain color variation, haven’t seen the animal so i wouldn’t know. What i can accept though is regional names like California Quail
You’re gonna freak out when you hear about all the Gazelles in Africa
Yeah ik about Thompson’s gazelle, i imagine that’s just british hunters discovering new species or whatever and them just saying ”that’s mine i saw it first”. But that could be very untrue since idk the full story on that
Well there’s also Cuvier’s, Speke’s, Soemmerring’s, and Grant’s Gazelles. Most of them are named after scientists or (in the case of the Grant’s Gazelle) were named as such simply because there wasn’t another name for the animal in the native language (Swahili actually took the English name and translated the word gazelle into their native language, making the new phrase for Grant’s Gazelle in Swahili “swala granti”)
that’s interesting but to get this post back on topic, what animals would we like to see on Parque? I could imagine spectacled bears maybe
Silver teal
The aforementioned Spotted Nothura and Pere Davids Deer, as well as various waterfowl species like Silver Teal, Chiloe Wigeon, Red Shoveler, and Black-Headed Duck, just to name a few.
Would love to hunt any type of shoveler, they look cool and make really uniqe sounds
Be nice to have more native species from Patagonia on the map, Guanaco or Vicuña, Patagonian Mara, Culpeo, Huemul (Rare), Lesser Rhea, Andean Goose, Magellans Goose, Ringed Teal, and Brazilian Teal would be a few options that would be nice to see. As well as the birds mentioned by Shrader.
I definitely agree. Parque could use 7-8 new species, most of which being waterfowl.
I think if they add Pere Davids Deer on the East side of the map, Guanacos on the West side, Mara in the interior parts of the map, and then add in some Brazilian Teal, Ringed Teal, and maybe some White-Cheeked Pintail it would fill the map out fairly well. Argentina doesn’t need another map imo, Parque just needs new species.
6-7 is better
