If you want an Amazon map check out #1207357430963507281
That would go hard, needs added
Yeah this would be cool, traps that don’t hurt the animals or kills them but rather keeps them in place
I love unethical ass things
Modern trapping i would say is rather ethical, it doesn’t hurt the animals
Snares and bear traps are in the message 😭😭😭😭
Bear traps can just be footholds, snares to my knowledge aren’t unethical
Homies tryna find something to complain about
Still feels way too easy and shouldn't be in a hunting game imo
You know this is a discussion thread? People arent gonna always agree with you. That's the entire point the devs take in what the community feels about it in this discussion and takes it into account for adding it into the game
Yeah there needs to be balancing for it, idk how though but i think it’s a cool concept
That’s fine, but I was just sharing ideas for the game, and idk how snares wouldn’t be a good idea for a hunting game it’s literally hunting. I can shoot a mallard with a 300 but we draw the line at snares?
Yet the game punishes you for doing it
Just because you can doesn't mean you should and the game has shown that with the harvest check
Either way I don’t see how snares would be a bad idea, they’ve added cool unique things like duck decoys I think snares for bunnies would be good too
I’d switch the title name of this post to like Snares and traps or smthn, just for clarity
I could see traps for very small game—hare, rabbit, squirrel—which would then serve as bait for predators. This would be specifically to attract rare predators, combined with the normal lures and calls.
That’s a neat idea
That would add a layer of complexity; you'd have to set up a trap line (DLC), check/monitor the trap line, and then use it for baiting. This would be only for the top predators and their variations in rare furs. For example, a bait like rabbit would attract certain predators, A small deer female that are practically (No gain) useless in the game could be used as bait for a wolf pack with rare (fur/pelt variations). It could even be on the menu when we select "Taxidermy," where we could then choose "Bait'', etc.
You do know what Bear Traps do to an animals foot? It literally ravages it. Modern clamp tramps just stop the animal from running off.
A bear is a bit big to use as bait. If you are using it as bait, today's traps are quite effective. Take, for example, a beaver trap (Rudy 330): it's set in the water using two sticks near the den or the dam, and believe me, with the force and speed that trap closes, the animal absolutely doesn't have time to see anything coming—snap, it's over.
Also, we do it all day long. When I shoot a game animal and I only wound it, it suffers a whole lot.
There are bear traps like clamp traps, i’m not talking about those regular bear traps
