Saint Bernard dogs were originally used by Augustine monks travelling through the Swiss and Italian Alps during the 18th century and are credited with saving the lives of over 2,000 people throughout history. These dogs are known for possessing immense strength ideal for digging through snow and carrying supplies such as food and water for injured travelers in need.

Saint Bernards would be a great choice for hunters who lack the storage capacity to carry small items such as scent sprays, lures and first aid kids. These items could be accessed through an inventory slot available on the dog command wheel, which could be used to swap items between the dog and the player.

In addition, the Saint Bernard could be equipped with a new item: "Brandy." As long as a Saint Bernard is carrying a supply of brandy, it would be able to revive the player after a fall or predator attack without the need to respawn at the nearest outpost. This perk could also be used to track and assist fallen hunters in multiplayer.

Fur types: Brown, Mahogany, Rust, Orange, Brindle and White

Perhaps this dog could be added alongside one of the previously suggested Alpine maps like how the Pointer was introduced at the same time as Salzwiesen Park.

Hi!
If I could give this a ten out of ten, I would have.
I love, love, love...
Not just the idea of the dog breed, but also the attributes you gave it.
More transportable storage space, the ability to heal.
👍

The only thing I can think of quickly is the possibility for the dog to push a prey animal or a herd toward you, a bit like a sheepdog. Imagine, it goes to find a prey animal and pushes it toward you, but whoa... it's a herd of bison. Imagine the surprise! A St. Bernard isn't 'designed' for that, but it could be trained for the task, It would need some sort of interaction with the animals.

Like the idea, a dog that has more protection abilities & med kit to bring you back be amazing. Plus cross training it as a tracker. It probably be my go to dog.

Tbh I think this could be a cool mechanic. I’m usually of the opinion that we have enough dogs (especially after how mostly useless the GSP is), but this could be cool for those who hunt Dangerous Game like Yaks.

Reviving is cool but i see it as a sidejob or whatever, the main job (carrying) would need adjustment to be useful. You can already carry a lot of stuff as it is so i see no need to carry more, imo just manage your inventory better. I would love any type of new dog but of course i would want it to be useful to me when hunting. Carrying more supplies, sure cool feature but not really neccessary

I think the same could be said about the retriever but I do get ya. More of a QoL thing rather than something as functional as the bloodhound

#

Maybe this would be controversial but perhaps creating a greater necessity for first aid kits might do the trick. I always feel like Im cheesing the game if I go to the main menu and back into a reserve to regen my health

When I think about it, the extra storage space wouldn't be very useful. I actually have everything I need with my tent. The tent takes up one slot in the backpack.
In North America, other dog breeds can be used for hunting.
They can be grouped into 5 classes.

Retrievers: Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever: Used to attract ducks by playing and jumping near the shore (I think it already does that lolllll).
Pointers and Setters
Hounds
Terriers
Water Dogs and Flushers.
