Dogs or people not interfering when you're trying to shoot

Ever tried to shoot an animal but your dog or friend was in the way so you couldn't shoot the animal?
Even if it looks like you're not aiming at your dog or friend sometimes it still might stop you from shooting
I've lost countless of animals because of this

My suggestion is you can shoot through dogs and people (Not killing them)

Have you tried using the Sit or Stay command?
When you stalk or see an animal you must use commands to make the dog stop, this is how it works.

even if i do that sometimes the dogs hitboxes still feel weird
and hunting with friends, not being able to shoot happens pretty often and its not just me ive seen people play cotw and it happened to them too

I mean, maybe you could shoot around them instead, without the whacky hitbox. What's the point of shooting through a dog or other player when you can't even see through them?

That doesn’t always work. In fact for me it rarely works. I can’t count the amount of times I’ve had my dog walk in front of me when I’m trying to shoot even after I told it to stay,

I use my dog all the time ... don't play MP though .... Never had the dog get in the way ....

If this is an issue exclusive to MP then one more reason not to play MP ....

I can remember years ago when the bloodhound was first released it would do this quite a bit ... Then they patched the AI where the dog doesn't get in front of the player .... never had a problem since ....

Also I never fire prone because the terrain messes up too many shots ... AS long as your crouched you should shoot over the dog .... But again the dog never gets in front of me .....

They should let us hunt our dogs

There's no problem with the hitbox, you just can't shoot when the dog is in front of you, regardless of whether it's facing the barrel, just like in real life.
The dog should always be to the side or behind you, that's the correct way to hunt with a dog, there's no point in the game omitting it, otherwise you'll only gain an advantage and no disadvantage or simulation.

We have commands for the dogs for a reason, if the dog is in the way tell it to track or retrieve so it moves away and then tell it to stay or sit or smthn. It’s what i always do when the dog is in the way

i tell it to track and it goes everywhere except behind me

the hitbox feels really big i shoot near it and it wont let me the hitbox should be as big as the dog
the dog just gets annoying being in the way and might stop me from being able to shoot

and with friends too i cant shoot standing near them because it just wont let me shoot and even when i think im safe sometimes i cant shoot

this suggestion/feedback isnt just only about dogs

thats fair but i think the bullets should just ignore the dogs or people so the bullet goes straight through
the atv does that

The atv pushes the dogs and people away, hard to do that with a bullet

Yes, they did change it, so you're not imagining things. It was awhile ago (1+ years), but if you really want to work out when, it was listed in patch notes when it happened.

People where hitting the dog and getting irritated that the dog survived unscathed but the ATV got damaged, and often the player went flying.
