#Salzweisen Park Backfill?

I know that Salzweisen is a new map, being less than a year old, but I feel as if there’s a lot of missing species on the map.

For example, Roe Deer, which are one of the smallest deer in the game, could fit well on Salz with a smaller population than would normally go on a map.

European Hares would also make a great addition to the map, as they are only found on Cuatro Colinas, despite being widely distributed in Europe and West Asia.

Hazel Grouse would make for a fun addition to the map, seeing as they are a tough species to find on Revontuli Coast, perhaps they could have a small population on Salzweisen Park that could give people who enjoy bird hunting more opportunities to find this elusive species.

TLDR, the species list:

Roe Deer (C3) (with remodel)
European Hare (C1) (with remodel)
Hazel Grouse (C1)

Love roe deer, I'm all for more places to hunt them

Maybe some new grouse but i think the map has enough animals to not feel clutters, but i suppose one more small game couldn’t hurt. Roe deer don’t fit in here imo just go to Hirschfelden

Nutria would fit quite well on both Salzwiesen and Mississippi considering they are invasive to both the Southern US and Europe

They're both extremely interesting animals but with sika in particular they always spawn in the most thick and tangled crap on my map and I don't like hunting water zones for everything in the game

Slightly larger turkey with less interesting feathers. . .

See if Salzwiesen wasn’t so much water there’d be more space for the deer to roam, which there really isn’t much at all of on Salzwiesen

worthy wigeon
# placid wadi So like what 4 of each?

I think you're overestimating how many animals are in an area. Like 20 of each species would look fairly normal inn area of that size even with the small game already there

Its really not that small, its a quarter of a normal map

Normal maps are 64km² and salz is 1/3 the size of a normal map and if my math is correct, that puts us at 21km²!!! Or 5,000 acres… plenty of space if you ask me

#

But I also understand if that isn’t the devs original vision.

I think if they added the Reeve's Muntjac that could be a great fit, but I think Roe Deer would have been a nice touch as well. And while the map is nice for bird hunting, a little bit larger map with more wetlands than ocean would have been better for waterfowl, and allowed deer to roam around.

In all honesty, my biggest issue with salz is the lack of new birds.

One Problem i have wirh Salzwiesen Park the farmland feels pretty empty . The only Things you find there are grouse and Pheasant some ocasionel racoons or Racoon Dogs and those damn geese (wich the map has way to much of ).

Adding Euro hares and some roe deer to that area would realy help out.

Doves would be nice, especially seeing as EW isn’t afraid to implement entirely new mechanics to the game. Hopefully if they ever add doves to the game, they bring some to Parque. It feels so empty without them.

Personally I think we don’t need any more maps in North America that are full sized (aside from maybe somewhere in Southern Mexico like the Yucatán and Greenland/Nunavut for Arctic Big Game).

Small Game maps are missing though, and seeing as we only have 4 upland game species (Pheasant, Turkey, Dusky Grouse, and Bobwhite Quail) from North America out of the over a dozen we could have is kinda disappointing. Not to mention the numerous ducks and geese were missing such as Specklebelly Geese, Eiders, Redheads, Canvasbacks, etc.

Literally all we’re missing in North America outside of the Arctic and Tropics is Small Game. We have every large game animal in North America aside from the Tule Elk, Stone and Dall Sheep, Polar Bear, Musk Ox, Walrus, and Jaguar.

Hell, Tule Elk could go on a map that’s maybe half the size and is set in California, and then we’d have all the Elk subspecies. You could throw Quail and tons of waterfowl on that map, plus things like Opossums and Badgers.

Well don’t expect every single small game from the continent, because there’s always gonna be people asking for improvements or new idea, for the most recent map 4 new small game was added, 3 being waterfowl, so if enough people ask for it we could get some good backfills but most of America except B.C and the Arctic already has maps so, but small maps only focused on small game i don’t think are a great idea, it’s better to as i said to blend everything in a map like Revontouli, but like three more medium game for a map like that. Though that many backfills most likely won’t happen for America, so logically i expect a blend map, but hopefully it could have more small game

Salz would have been perfect for new class 2 species like euro badgers. I like having a more open map for raccoon hunting but I wish there were more animals like that personally

Black Grouse aren’t found in Schleswig-Holstein either, so I don’t see that being an issue, and Roe Deer are the 3rd smallest deer in the game after Musk Deer and Muntjac.

I made this list as species that are in game that could come to Salzweisen, but I definitely wouldn’t mind seeing Partridge, Badgers, Scoters, or Barnacle Geese, although I’d personally like to see Eiders on a more Arctic based map as I generally think of them as Arctic birds.

Seeing as this is a backfill, I only went with returning species, but there are various new species that would have been great on Salzweisen Park.

Chief among these is the Eurasian Badger, a very common animal throughout temperate Europe and would have made a perfect edition to the map.

Another good species would be the Barnacle Goose, alongside its cousin, the Brant. Both of these would have made better editions than the Graylag and Tundra Bean Goose as they’re essentially coastal geese, who would have been at home all across the map.

The final new species I believe should be added to Salzweisen is the Common Quail and the Gray Partridge. Both are very common game birds throughout Germany and would have made Salz an upland bird haven like Revontuli Coast.
