It’s Time To Remodel, Overhaul Rework and Population Reset Cougars/Pumas/Mountain Lions

I hope EW sees this because, I think I Speak for everyone when I say this that it’s time For Cougar/Pumas/Mountain Lions to not only get “Remastered/Remodeled” since their current model is very outdated and could use a new glow up…. But most importantly it’s time for Cougars to get a very much needed “AI Overhaul Rework” and population reset… what I mean is whether you love them or hate Them we can all agree that cougars are a very controversial species in the game as of this post they scare off everything they scream too much and there’s just way too many of them on each reserve what do I mean? Well “Silver Ridge Peaks” currently has 100 Mountain Lions on that reserve and that’s a crazy amount there should not be 100 cougars on any reserve and even more crazy “Parque Fernando” there’s 200 Pumas, there should not be 200 or even 100 cougars on each reserve. So instead here’s what I think could help fix Cougars/Pumas/Mountain Lions so the community could probably start to either really love them or at least like them more than how they are now.. so here am I pitch ideas and if anybody else has anymore feel free to comment down below

Number 1: give them the “Bengal Tiger and Snow Leopard Treatment” Much Lower populations somewhere around 8 Very minimum to 40 very maximum and make them more stealthy and elusive, cougars are large cats, and all large cats are very stealthy and elusive this makes them feel a lot more rewarding to find and hunt and less of an annoyance for Casuals and Grinders This could also work if they ever decide to get backfilled to other reserves like Layton or Askiy Ridge

Number 2: make them less likely to scream all the time… “yes cougars do make very loud ungodly human like screams everybody knows that, but the thing is they don’t scream all the time IRL, again they are large cats, large cats are very stealthy and elusive, and part of that is mostly them keeping quiet” so making them more quiet and less likely to scream may help make them less annoying

Number 3: less likely to chase all other animals out of an area…. It’ll probably still happen just not as frequently thus making them less of a pain in the neck for grinders.

Number 4: a model remaster…. I said it before and I’ll say it again cougars are overdue for a remodel same as coyotes and grizzly bears cause the current model is really bad, It was good for the time when they launched, but now they definitely could use a a remodel.

Number 5: home ranges! With cougars having lower populations and getting the same treatment as the tigers and snow leopards, you can definitely give them home ranges having them multiple “feed, rest and drink zones” does helping keep their elusive nature!

Well, those are my suggestions I hope EW Sees this and takes notes

I agree with all of this stuff! But another thing I would like to add is them being able to have Rest Zones in trees! This would be a select few trees that are made and placed on the map, but it would be an amazing addition I think, and I would love having them on Askiy Ridge in a very low population, laying in a tree while watching snow fall.

I don't think they need to be the new Great One, while a Great One cat seems cool, I think a Lion would be much better for that. As well as giving them and other non-antlered game animals a size-per-level update, where a level 1 is small bodied, and a level 9 is much larger in size.

Agreed! They don't have enough variations of fur colors to support a Great One in my opinion. Now Wolverine that's a different story

I do want a ripped level 9, and also them to have glowing eyes like the Wolves, I think it would be pretty sweet!

I could definitely see them making a great one cougar they would probably have to make up a bunch of the coat patterns, though which actually I was gonna bring up the idea of a great one cougar! Actually though I do have a funny idea if we ever do get Africa 2.0 we end up getting cheetahs and leopards too and then because of this every single wild cat in the game big and small gets a great one like EW just goes all out with all the wildcats getting the great one From Tigers and Lions to Bobcats XD

Actually, I do have some ideas for coat patterns for a great one cougar… some of these are kind of based off The Extinct “American Cheetah” which in actuality wasn’t really a True Cheetah at all well, there was actually much more closer related to cougars and yes, it was a product of convergent evolution

I think minimum of 50 to 60 should be on parque as that’s what the story is mainly about ( also some of us grind them ). If we truly don’t want them messing up hunts imo drink zones go back to 21 to 00 on srp, 1 feed zone being 00 to 3 for both maps and then rest every other time for both maps.

Well, I mean, technically cougars are an older Species since they came out around 2019 with Parque Fernando, which was around the same year the Gray Wolf and Grizzly Bear were added with Yukon Valley…

I know, there’s animals like coyotes, black bears, wild boar, roe deer, Mouflon, Ibex’s, Iberian Wolves….African Animals

The oldest models ingame are wild boar and european bison i believe, i’d love if they prioritize oldest to newest when it comes to remodeling but they didn’t do that last release so

You sure about that cause I can’t remember the last time coyotes have been remastered and reworked! Roosevelt Elk, black tailed deer, and Whitetail jackrabbit are also on that list of needing to be remastered and Reworked

But since a lot of animals recently reworked were from both Americas i think Europe is the next upcoming

Plus I do think the Devs said that will be beginning one reserve south of the North Pole and the other one north of the South Pole… so Jaguars anyone.. maybe?! And maybe then the cougars can finally get there Remaster and Rework

Cause imagine the size of the Jaguar and then imagine all the crazy coat patterns and colorations they can go with maybe also give them like scars or larger Teeth

I guess, i think it would be cooler with the way they did tigers though, great ones are better to make more plain animals look more uniqe (Mule deer, fallow deer). Not that those animals are plain but yk compared to a tiger or a jaguar, animals that already have crazy variations of their fur they could already have i don’t think a great one would be neccessary. Better to have a great one cougar or a great one of something more sorry for saying plain but common, since red deer, fallow deer, moose, and so on are found in many places. Tahr is an exception from being plain, but it has to be more with it being majestic that it being a great one fits. For the jaguar it doesn’t fit into any of those two categories

Maybe they want it have a great ones that could be exclusive to one map you never know and it may be alongside the jaguar we could get another more Multimap great one like a Cougar or another Deer of Somekind

Nah i doubt that, since tahr can be multiple places as well, there’s still options for the middle east for them to be added in there so there’s at least three places for tahr, there ain’t been a great one for a specific place yet either

I think having 20 - 25 per map, and giving them similar mechanics to the Snow Leopards would be the best possible thing for them. They would make the Cougars actually fun to hunt, and I wouldn’t be mad having them on Rancho Del Arroyo if they were created like that.

I’ve been hunting for almost 20 years and I’ve never seen one. I’ve seen tracks and heard them, but I’ve never seen one. I’ve seen more wild Wolverines and Fishers than I have Mountain Lions.

This is a Fisher. They’re related to Martens and Weasels. They’re very elusive and are incredibly rare in Idaho.

They usually do but it doesn’t mean that they can’t. They constantly change the way the give out content and though not many updates are free, backfills have happened before and if we don’t get a new map with mountain lions on it, we might just get a reworked one for an update. You never know.
