I just got a double-lung, heart shot on a sambar deer from about 150 meters with the new 2-6 .257 roberts rifle. It said it was an unethical ammo to use, if that was the case then why can I double-lung and heart shot it every time?

No. Absolutely not. They’re incredibly tough and they are supposed to be taken with calibers like .300, .375, and .338, not a .257.

Shooting something in the heart with basically any caliber will kill it. Not a good reason to want their class changed

257 needs shift to 3-7c. Sambar in the right class.

i've used my .257 for coyotes in real life and it's not overkill by any means

#

what about classes 2-7 though? Thoughts?

.243 is pretty commonly used to hunt coyotes actually, at least around here it is.

The top 3 varmint calibers around me are the .223, .22-250, and .243
